It seems strange to me that Logistic Support ships cannot use gang assist modules. Surly if there was ever a ship that could help a gang that it would be the Logistic Support ship? So why can they not use the gang assist module or am I missing something?

Think it is more like a module that assist the gang commander to do stuff faster/better. To use these modules you need a leader , but to run a logistics support you need an engineer.

Logistics ships also don't really have enough high slots, battlecruisers have an abundance of high slots... Too bad these aren't things you can throw in utility slots on battleships - it'd be nifty if there was something like a "gang support relay" that added a little bit more depending on how many ships had them equipped in a gang divided by the number in the gang or something.
But if you want to think of it in some way... think of the new battlecruiser role as a modern AWACS and the logistics ships as a KC-135 or something.

I guess tech II Battlecruisers might be spezialized Command ships.
But yes, would be nice if Logistics could fit a module :)

I think it would be cool if a ferox could run up your flag for whatever group you are with. Would be neat. ---

Whether logistics can use it or not, I find it strange that there's only one gang assist module that helps remote repairing, and that's only for armor. None help shields, none help energy. The same is true for the new faction implants, unless I missed something. There's a set for armor repair/remote armor repair, but the shield boost one is only for shield boosters, not remote shield transfers. ---

Well, CCP obviously had an idea:
The 'Skills' department: "More charisma-based skills good! More Gangskills, yay!"
The 'Ships' department: "Battlecruisers useless bad! Give new boni, yay!"
They stuffed that together.
Now, a history lesson. Before this patch, Battlecruisers sucked, but were also left alone because they sucked. Now, we have the same sucky ships, except they're now primary targets in every fleetbattle. 
I vote for Logistic Cruisers getting this bonus instead.

..that's why I'm training those skills and then slam the modules in a ferox.
they will do wonders in small groups, + a ferox armed with anti-frig weaponary + EW might survive the confrontations. -------------------

Brutix + 2 1600mm plates +2 small armour reps (Better on PG then 1 med and repairs as much while being scaleable) + 1 Hardener (energized nano if your not sure what your going up against.
Fill the Highs with gang assist mods, fill the mids with the mods that get you extra gang assist mods and you can still fit 10 medium drones and 1 or 2 dual 150's.
Bango you have yourself a command ship who can survive fire for a time and has enough defense to chase off the occasional brave intie pilot.

My crystal ball says that T2 BC's are coming, and they'll have even more bonuses to these things than they currently have.

one big problem with gang assist modules is there cpu usage 5k now with bc it has 90% reduction leaves 500 cpu used thats more then most bc if not all have as base cpu making it a total waste of time unless i am totally mistaken
