I got a mission last night that was new to me. Infiltrated Complex (or something it was late and I don't quite remember). It was deadspace and you had to go and destroy 2 mining outposts that had been infiltrated by Rogue drones. the payout was pretty crappy for a lvl 4, 150k isk 140k time bonus (if I could do it 40 minutes ) and only 763 LP's. So I assumed it would be an easy one and decided to run through it with 2 corpmates to test out my buddies Scimitar (support ship).
A very cool mission I though, the structures were very nice (though inconvient). However my agent must hate me! In the first zone there was 1 parasite and 10 other drones. Not too bad. Second zone there were 4 parasites and maybe 30 other drones including a Rogue Commander who almost kicked my ass. Anybody else get this mission and get shafted by thier agent? I was offered a vengence mission prior to it that had normal rewards so I know they didn't nerf mission payouts in general. The minerals were worth 24 mil (a bit of a nerf there I think, but I'm okay with that). So we made 8 mil ea, but it took us 2 hours to do the mission as the mission layout and drone types (and the fact that you agro 2 groups at once in the second zone [3 parasites + 20 other drones]) requied we run for it a few times.
On a side note, the Scimitar preformed very well. He was able to keep 4x medium tranfsers running continuously for 156 SH/s boost.
Just my thoughts.

yep got this one also the lp's make you think its gonna be easy but you soon fill your pants when you warp in.....at least they didnt take the supremes out all together so you can still have a source of morphite outside of 0.0 but no doubt that will be taken out soon when the 0.0 masses complain mission runners still have it easy....its a very difficult one to solo also took me and a buddy to do it in the end

I took this Mission last night. The second Acceleration Gate is VERY difficult. Couldn't finish it in a Raven with a Corp mate give 4 lrg shield transporters and Cap transfer. We tried twice to no avail. Two drone groups attacking simultaneously and FOUR(4), yes FOUR Spreme Drone Parasites. My shields were gone within one minute and half my Armor a few seconds later.
Is there an answer?
My guess is that I'll try it again and at the second gatge will simply turn and run the opposite direction at the best possible speed before locking the first Drone. Maybe I can get far enough away to aggravate one Drone group at a time.

i did that mission on test server, dont agro anything on secoind stage after warp in, fit a sensor booster and a couple of oainters, then head tou to 120k and snipe them with cruise, worked fine for me with rather crap missile skills, had to redock for ammo to take last group, but did it solo without any probs
hope that helps

I thought this mission could have been great in the second level if they didn't warp you right into a structure that fills your entire screen. With the UI being so "friendly" post-patch, I was not able to pan and scan at all for a loong time.
Not only that, but when I turned to align to anything to warp out, I just kept selecting the structure that was all around me and couldn't navigate, not to mention the ton of bogies you aggro when you warp in. I ended up losing my tanked out Apoc, and a budy almost lost his before getting lucky and warping out.
I don't have a problem with hard missions, but this was ridiculous, on the second level, because navigating was very very difficult in the amount of time I had to try and get out. I was very bitter over the ship loss, but even bitterer at the design of the second level, warping me straight into a structure. Even when I was aligning I was bumping on something though nothing appeared to be close enough to knock me off of alignment.
I went back in a newb ship several times to grab my gear, and check out how to navigate, and it was just WAY too much of a pain, even in a newb ship to navigate. This is poor mission design in my opinion because navigating (unless you select stuff and fly towards it) is pan and scan double click etc, but with a huge structure all around, that you can't avoid clicking in most cases, severely hampers even the most basic of movements.
I think the mission would have been awesome if I didnĘt warp right into that structure, and was not able to pan and scan. I am real reluctant to try to complete it, as I donĘt want to **** away another ship, hoping to be able to navigate away.
I have been running lvl 4Ęs for along time in my Apoc, and definitely donĘt feel like I was under-prepared for the mission, it wasnĘt even the bogies that make it over the top to me, but the inability to pan and scan well, and align, etc.. Terrible idea for whoever came up with that mission.

How many times does one have to reiterate and point out for each and every rogue drone mission thread that says anything about them being too difficult that ..........
All rogue drone use magnometric sensors, EW works on NPC including rogue drones.
Supreme has a 20 or 21 sensor strength in all fields.
BUT ALL other rogue drones have like a 2( seee that number? TWO )
that means one magnometric ECM burst will END any small drones lock and a magnometric ECM constantly running should keep them all from being able to lock you except for the drone parasite.
All it takes is a bit of reading in ANY of the older rogue drone threads to find this out.
And knowing the sensor type and strength of Rogue drones has been plastered in forums for like 3 monthes
One module can affectively elliminate all damage taken from about 95% of the rogue drones.
now that's out of the way.
There is not one single rogue drone mission that is now too hard for anyone.
If you have trouble with a mission. Before posting it's too hard, atleast look at the EX possibilities before posting a new thread saying it's too hard.
you're prolly overlooking something.

I hope you are not responding to my rant because I made it perfectly clear that it was not the NPC's per say that lead to my demise but the fact that I was warped into a structure that prevented me from navigating and warping. I concur, the rogue drones are not the problem, it's the lame arse structure.
I would expect a reasonable chance of getting out if I was setup with a descent tank, if I warp in somewhere, not get stuck in something that prevents me from navigating.
As I also said, I am not saying it is flat out impossible to navigate, just that with the sweet UI not working 100% and being surrounded by a selectable structure, I got hung up and roasted. I would have loved to warp out, and reconfig with my gang members.

Edited by: X''Alor on 08/07/2005 19:55:11 nonetheless.
that mod or mods still would have saved you even with the structure blocking your view and UI controls.

I also got the 4 Supreme Drone Parasite spawn at the second stage. I was in a Mega with a LIF AB, turned and went in the opposite direction from the drones and eventually took care of all the drones except the 4 Supremes. I was using 1 425 Proto, 4 425 Rail IIs, and 1 Dual 250 Rail II. Was using AM ammo in the 425s and Lead ammo in dual 250mm. I could not kill a Supreme without having to warp out. I came back with a Raven with torp and no luck as well. Anyone with any ideas on how to take care of 4 Supremes with Mega or Raven solo?

I had this mission last. It took me a few days to complete because I kept running out of time to do it.
I managed the first stage no problem, and the second stage needed a few warp outs once I got a tactic working.
I use 4x 425mm Rail II and 4x Cruise Launchers. I ran to 90km and then sniped the small drones. Those damn parasites take a butt load to kill though. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

I just killed 3 of the four supremes and DT hit.
I had to fit 8 mega beam 2's and sit at my optimal of 75km. They cant hit me from there. It takes ages to break their tanks too.
6 megabeams with multifreqs used to kill these guys pretty fast. Doesnt even dent them now.
The big strucures, while pretty, are a death trap. If you are solidly stuck behind them then you cant even seem to zoom out to find an empty patch of space.
10/10 for looks 0/10 for practicality.
I would be surprised if a lot of newer players can a) tank the damage from 3 of these at close range while having the required damage output to kill one b) Have the required damage output full stop at long range.

Yeah, the key is a long range setup. I finished this one with a Mega sniping at 100km or so.
