Thus minmatar missile ships are going to be VERY hard to fly as they will require so many odd skill points i doubt anyone will do it until they are way past needing to.
Its not that I am against the change. But I think this has negative implications for these ships actualy required skill paths. I think we can just convert the breacher into a regular turreted ship and drop the missiles. On that same note, how about the hound fitting large guns or something to leverage your average Minmatar's skills. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

By this logic we should change all ships to turrets then.
Yes it sounds silly. Unfortunatly so does your idea.
Seriously though. The breacher is a minnie missle boat that works wonders with rockets. Changing it just makes another rifter.
The hound is completly diffrent, which minnie frig can fit cruise missle launchers??
Just something to think about. I welcome the missle changes. They are a boost not a nerf. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Mmmmm scordite....... |

Whatever, turrets still require more skillz than missiles, therefore, missiles are still better. To rid minmatar ships of their few missile hardpoints would be ****in' stupid. They're supposed to have a nice mix of missiles and turrets. If minmatar ships didn't, they'd be gallente, or amarr, both lame. Missiles are the ****, big ups to the real missile boats of Caldari!

Well guess what? Smartbombs require less SP then missles.. so are SB the uber weapon?
your weapons still do more damage per second, they weigh less, you can still hurt frigs from 50km+ and your ships are mainly turret. Caldari and Minmatar have to have 4m in gunnery and 4m in missles just to be effective.
Ammar have always had newb ships.. now gallente ships are newb ships as well. ________

weirda disagree with you logic. you need high missile skills, turret skills, drone skills, shield tank skills and armor tank skills to get the most out of all of you ships. sure - different skills needed for different ship, but have gotten most of these up to 4/5 anyways (not the new ones obviously - yet)...
minmatar is a very skill intensive race (ship and weaponry) to be effective... that is why they start with the best perception/willpower...
was doing some testing with hound yesterday - and it is loads better now then pre-patch. all new skills will be 3/4 by 12 day at which point missiles start getting a lot more effective.
anyhow - you have you points, weirda just doesn't agree with them. minmatar is not a turret race... or a drone race... or a missile race... it is a omgwtfthroweverythingandkitchensink offensive race, if we could break off pieces of our ship and sling them at you too - we would!  -- Thread Killer

Wierda may be wierd but sure ain't dumb.
Sure Minnies are a "projectile" race, but you best be training up evrything else as well.
The Typhoon has got to be the quintessential Minmatar ship, 4 turrets 4 launchers, but both bonuses are proj. More shields than Armor but 7 low slots compared to 4 mids. And oh yeah, the second largest drone bay in the game.
The Tempest is a little more straightforward, either auto temp or sniper, but even it has 4 launchers hard points.
My point, echoing Wierda's, its no big deal if you have to specilize early to fly a frig because you are going to need to specialize in ALL the skills to be a truly effective BS pilot.

So what have we really accomplished. Missile boats will train missile skills, gun boats gun skills. Minmatar now train both... So effectively Minmatar go along for the ride on this missile nerf. Gallente are the same. Caldari get what they deserve. Amarr I dont know.
More fence riding for the Minmatar.
So who will have the missile skills to use a missile boat, and the Command skills to fly Minmatar ships? Is there coming a Calmatar race?

Those are just two ships that are missile oriented...
What about the vexor? What about the Dominix? Should I have to train millions of sps to fly them as they were intended? Why not just make them rail platforms too?
