Well once In amamake....
....we had a new growing Pirate Star named Gyzb0, he was camping the osoggur gate alot, and he had around -2 to -5 in sec.
So I gave him 5000 isk in bounty in the hope of he whould keep this up so I could pod him later with high bounty.
Well that same hour I had just given him that nice starting bounty, Liu and few of his corp mates came into the system for a little visit, they warped to a safespot near the osoggur gate and waited for Hunnybunny(cov op) to tell them when they should warp in on Poor Gyzb0 and they did after few min.
Gyzb0 managed to warp to safe against from the pro "compared to gyzb0" prirates, but Gyzb0's safespot wasent the best safespot in the game, so they all just warped 15km after him to his Safe-planet-spot( witch he used again the day after when I killed him ) It was kinda funny to be able to see all that happen!
So not all pirates do have nap's

It depends on what mood I'm in, if I'm into hunting I'll mostly shoot anybody, but if I'm not so much I tend to hang around or not shoot.
Not only versus pirates, also versus other players I know (not even "close" people)... there's a fair bit of people that have been trying to break my Mastodons tank while friendly chatting to me, me peacefully sitting at a gate within jump range. ;)
The chatter is nice, but it gets me killed and I should refrain from doing it. Besides, not doing it is probably making me more isk... :)

I will shoot at anything i can, unless i know the person. I have a number of people i chat with, both carebear and pirate, who i wouldn't shoot if i was alone, but who i will shoot if i'm flying in a group. I'll shoot at another pirate i see, but if he asked me not to or needed help with something and wasn't being rude i'd help.

I know one group of pirates who have the highest level of legitimacy as pirates I have ever seen. Other pirates will camp gates and gank people but these guys are professionals. It's Rastalin Highcort and his buddies, real pirates. They ransom ships for ISK to buy things they need, offering people protection from that if they instead offer to help them get things they need. For example, they'll give certaining mining corps an exemption from their pirating if that corp agrees to give them some minerals regularly. Co-operate or get ransomed when you do get caught. Either way, they're going to get the money that they need to replace things they lose, as is the same with everyone in eve, from other players.
That is what I think real piracy is. They aren't concerned with mindless ganking, they are treating piracy as just another profession to be used to gain money to replace things they lose playing the game the way they want. And they're perfectly right and justified, I think it's fantastic.
If you're reading this, Rastalin and co, you guys rock :). Keep on podding (just not me) :D.

myes, well he was alone at that time, no corp to back him up, so he camped there all alone, that has changed as mafia took him in to give him a real woodenleg and a new fancy eye patch.

I go by who is flying with us. If they are not blue kill them. Other than that, who cares. Its about the fun in pvp, not if they are friends or not.

Well we have killed him and poded him 2-3 times since he has joined you guys, he was starting to change ship type and use real Safespots + cloaking Device so you guys are on the right track on makeing him a nice Pirate!

It all depends.
I respect all Pirates that share "the pirate code".
Im sure you wonder what the pirate code is, basically its
killing all non pirates. Pirate skilling pirates are rubbish
since Carebears and Alliance members outnumber pirates
a trillion to one.

your telling me that you dont kill other pirates?
isnt it in every pirate corp's interest to keep other pirates out of the area where they operate?

I guess I have a bit of a pirate code I go by. If I see other pirates in area or whatnot, I typically won't hunt them. But I'm not going to wait to see if they want to play pattycake if we meet.

You see, if we are talking 0.0 then its not really a debate.
I mean, even Xetic kill people in 0.0. Im merly thinkning about my fellow thugs with bad sec standing. We see eye to eye if you like. We share the same universe, yet we know not to trespass on eachothers areas. Naturally I would kill anyone that seeks to steal my prey, but visitors or tourists I would leave alone.
Ohh and its not our interest to keep pirates out, our interest is to kill mission runners and miners.

In order to avoid shooting other pirates I'd have to figure out exactly who all the other pirates in the game are. I don't really feel like doing that.

actually we of mafia have good bonds with fellow pirate corps, we do not hassitate to contact fellow pirates to ask for their views e.g. when we happen to be camping in the same area, wich often results in nice blockades and team ups, wich is a hell allot of fun  allthough there r also more less fun people, arrogant and such, well then the c-bears have a night off from getting killed, it will be full scale war, pirates vs pirates, with no sentry's interfering, finding out who really has the biggest wooden leg
