did the explosion occurred around or was a direct impact?
If it was a direct impact then did the missile perfured the hull or not?

I suspect a direct impact is the more likly option due to the inherent benefit that missile operations in space allow for a very maneuverable missile...so long as it has the fuel to do so.

For that reason that CCP went to the worst possible option.
The missiles issue was originated because missiles always hit the target.
Where in fact missiles should hot hit the target always.
Unless if they can keep the target right in the middle of their "tracking cone"

Another thing you may want to ask is what damage did the internal take? It is quite possible for the internal structure to fail without puncturing the armor and hull.

on EVE yes
Because EVE is based that only few things get directly to the structure without removing the shields/armor
But if we think a little... what would happen if you fire a weapon against a single point of an object (even if its armored)
eventually it will prefure the armor and get into the hull. So you might have 99% armor and that 1% is enough to get your hull.
Well this in EVE does not happen only when your hull is under 30% and sometimes even less than that.

I see where you're coming from now. I was thinking in terms of explosions and ship collisions with large objects where the impact force is distributed over a large area as oppose a single concentrated point.
But you do make the case that in reality a complete failure in armor is not required to destroy the hull.
From a game design view point I can understand not wanting implement something like that due to server loading issues, but it would be an awesome way to diversify some of the ammo for projectile and rail users

Torpedos are a bad example because real navy ships don't go the speeds represented in game... aircraft are a better example, but most spacecraft in eve go faster than the fastest aircraft. What does this mean? It means that if a torpedo's sensors can't keep EXACT track of an in game frigate's motion (use exact analogies to real life naval ships when arleigh burkes go mach 5), then the missile may explode outside of its kill zone.
This is all of course quite contrary to a very serious game balance problem - ie that my megathron with 7 425s and 2 tracking comps can insta gank some cute little 7k bounty blood raiders (whatever they're called) but a raven can't deal more than .7 or whatever damage to it from the same range. THATS the problem, missiles at range should be a function of delta transevrse velocity or something like that instead of what it is now - but then again, that would require some pretty massive server side calculations for each missile fired.

Unfortunatly that analogy falls down as you don't have a medium to transfer the energy of the blast to the frigate/Submarine.
Simply put in space: Boom > Energy goes into vaporising missile casing/warhead forming an expanding, spherical gas cloud. Some energy obviously is radiated away, but the signficant damaging bit is the kinetic energy of the gas.
As with all things 'boom', effects fall off as 1/r^2, so if a missile misses even by a small ammount the corresponding reduction in damage is large. Read that again while thinking about slow moving torpedo vs. agile light missile, If a missile misses by just a small ammount 1/r^2 ensures a signficant effect.
Now at best 50% of the blast hits the target if it occurs at zero distance due to the volume effect. Consider that the energy is distrbuted over that spherical volume and ask yourself, what happens to an object encompased by only part of that volume?

what about structures they dont move yet we hit them for much less now...it is bad the missile thing totaly overdone...and badly.

Agree 100% The problem here is CCP physics model. I find it hard to believe that missle and turret rounds are 100% accurate. It is time for CCP to really look at adding some animations that show missles and turret rounds actually MISSING.
