I hope not for Marina Sirtis sake (whoevewr she is). Current voice still sounds like someone who uses hard drugs, a lot. ------------------

Nah, that's not Counselor Troi.
If it was, all the Trek Fanbois would flock here in droves, and we'd have a Klingon Alliance out there.

Shouldn't Corelli then be aspiring to make her a valued customer?

Marina Sirtis is of Greek/British origin. She actually doesn't have the typical British (Queen's English)accent that is characterized in the new computer voice. Marina's accent is a Greek/British mix, one of the more unique accents in show business.

Nah, sounds more like Dr. Beverly Crusher, 30 years after she moved to Britain and drank herself half to death.

We've taken to calling her "Marvinia, the Paranoid Drepressive User Interface"

Actually, the new voice reminds me of that rather 'spiffey' female archaeologist friend of Daniel Jackson in 'Stargate: SG-1', you know, the one who became a Snakehead baddie (don't they all) and wanders around in revealing atire speaking with a deeeep and dangerous voice now.
Oh yes, she made a guest appearance in 'Doctor Who' recently, and was equally 'spiffey' in that!

I'd love a happy, upbeat voice. Instead of Marvin, think 'Heart of Gold' onboard computer. "Why, I'd LOVE to warp to the station." "I'm pleased as punch to report that our docking request is accepted."
The current voice actress did fine for the intro movie, but needs a bit of the chipmunk treatment to be acceptable for day to day use. Please change it, or give us the option to change it. It would be so great if I could supply my own wav or mp3 sounds for that.

Ohhh, that chick. Yeah, she never spent enough time naked for most of us to remember her name. Now if it's hagard hotties that we want, I would suggest getting Anna Nicole Smith(see I can remember her name!) to do the next take for the UI voicing. We could all get placebo drunk just from listening to her.

This new voice is the same person that did the voice-over in Command and Conquer and the like.
Nuclear launch... detected.

Marina is an actress. That being said, I'm sure she can speak Queen's English when she needs to, standard North American English when she needs to. I've heard her speak naturally and she has more of a*****ney accent. Just my 2ó worth. DT
