Edited by: Santiac on 09/07/2005 23:34:05 Here's a post about that very skill, remember it's always worth checking a couple of pages back to see if people have already answered the question you need an answer for, instead of peeing in their potty by asking them once more ;)
[EDIT] On a sidenote, my guess is that they're either a new fancy covert ops frigs, or their the Advanced Command Class Ships mentioned in the Gang Assist modules descriptions :) [/EDIT]

In Star Wars, an Interdictor was a class of star destroyer that creates a gravity well big enough to *pull* ships straight out of hyperspace while in-route. it also kept them from leaving, trapping them in normal space.
if that's what these puppies will do then OMG, it's on.

Yep Yep!
Also, Dreadnought originally came from the British Navy. It was the new class of ship commissioned righ before WWI that made all Battleships before it obsolete...by a lot. If Interdictors are anything close to what Star Wars made them, they will make combat completely revolutionary, and I will love to see how fleet battles run after their introduction.

An interdictor was basically a long range interceptor, that operated deep behind enemy lines with the express intent of interdicting enemy logistic efforts.
So if anything, these would be basically interceptor class cruisers or even interceptor class Battle cruisers.
Oh and the Interdictor from Star Wars ... even though it was a capital class ship its designation was a Heavy Cruiser (don't ask how i knew that.. )

Actually there are seven dreadnoughts ranging in age from 1573 to present. The name derives from the saying that the ship will "dread nought but from God". The dreadnought you reference was launched in 1906, it was the first battleship to fit a uniform gunsize of over 12 inches. Any ship that fits a uniform gunsize of over 12 inches is often referred to as a dreadnought.
In any case... If interdictors work like they do in starwars, that'll own.
