Just got back into the game and have been mining relentlessly while getting my missile skills up (even the new ones) to par so I can eventually pick up a raven.
My only two offensive ships (well, offensive Cruisers, my Kestrels are nigh on worthless atm with the missle "nerf") currently are a Caracal & Moa, the Caracal is actually outfitted with its previous gear (8 months old) and still capable of .2 (thus far tested) hunting. But I thought I'd hit up the Moa's I have tucked away in my HQ. Now before I left I had only about a combined 1 mill sp (not all in missile/gunnery) so I'm still getting those up. I'm looking to see what everyone thinks of my current setup, and any improvements they could suggest to help me fight off what I'll be facing in .2/.1 (and MAYBE 0.0). I can say that for now my Engineering/Electronic/Gunnery/Missile skills allow me to do the following with my setup.
Hi Slots 2 Scout 250mm Accelerator Cannons (railguns) 2 250mm Railguns 1 Malkuth Standard Missile Launcher 1 Sv-2000 Assault Missile Bay
Mid Slots 1 Medium Shield Recharger 1 10mn MWD 1 10k Webber 1 Cap Recharger
Low Slots 1 Power Diag 2 RCU's 1 Mag Stabilizer
Please feel free to suggest any improvements you guys think of, most importantly about the missile launchers, don't worry about my lack of skills, eventually I'll train them up for some better stuff and will be able to loadout suggestions. |

Why do you have a scarmbler for NPCing?
also you might beable to use 4x200mm rails drop the scrambler for a sheild amp i dont think that a moa is now suited to 0.0 hunting
My set up:
High 4x 200mm rails iorn/antimatter/lead 2x standard missle launchers(or rocket launchers)
Medium: Sheild Booster Sheild amp 2x rat type hardeners (may use 3 on situation drop amp)
Low: damage mods,tracing comps,rcu

Switching to 200mm rails wouldn't be a bad idea, they have nearly the same dot as 250s with less grid, but of course they have less range. However with the grid and cpu saved you might be able to add an extra damage mod, tracking enhancer, or another assault launcher.

The scrambler was there for pvp pirates, not something I hunt down, simply if I get caught off gaurd, I guess theres not much reason to have it though eh?

Since the patch all I've been doing is NPC hunting in my Moa, I've got around 1.2 mil SP's pretty much spread out in EW, missles and gunnery. I've had no problems at all in .1 and .2 space, I did some hunting in 0.0 and was able to survive, but I didn't try anything with more than a 150k bounty.
My setup: 3x 250 rails 1x Dual 150 rail 1x Heavy Launcher 1x Assault Launcher
10MN AB Target Painter Shield Booster Cap Recharger
2x PDU 1x Mag Stab 1x Tracking Enhancer

Hi Slots: 4x 250mm Railgun II
Mid Slots: 2x Sensor Booster II 2x Tracking Comp II
Low Slots: 2x Tracking Enhancer II 2x Mag Stab II
Assuming mostly Lvl4 skills, your lock range will be around 150km. Optimal with tungsten at 100km and 115km for iron. Park yourself 120km or so from the belt, away from any warpable objects so players can't jump in on top of you. Keep yourself aligned to a safe spot. If rats are too far away, lock em and send a shot to aggro em. Pop em as they move towards you.
Obviously you won't be able to fit this or use most of the equipment listed with your skills atm. So substitute with named/T1 equipment as skills/budget dictate. You'll need Engineering 5 to fit this with named/T1 guns. You'll also need Advanced Weapons Upgrade 1 to fit this with TII rails. In the meantime, swap one of your low slots for an RCU so you can fit everything.
