Edited by: dosperado on 10/07/2005 03:17:08 Ok I try to do the second part of a three-part storyline mission called "Station in Crisis) with a lvl4 cosmos agent. First mission was to collect 60! Drifter Spurs. So far so good, took some time but was not a problem(killing many frigs).
Now the second part:
I have to transport 9000 pistols (18000m¦) from ONE to ANOTHER Station!
But I can't ACCEPT that mission, because I have to show up with a ship with 18.000 m¦ free cargo when I talk to that agent in space. No Cargo Capacity Warning Popup like in any other "transport" mission (where you can accept anyway then).
So Devs, is this intended that I have to train up to Iteron MK5 or better and buy expensive cargo expanders to do that mission?? Not even in my mammtoh I can do that mission, because I can't accept it! That is ridiculous.
The GM's have no tools to set that mission to status "accepted". And it expires on 14.07. Fine.
If this is intended I am fed up with the new cosmos missions.. ____________________ CEO Denial of Service

Theres also a mission called "The Moa parts" where u need a ship that holds 21000 m3. Pretty lame imo.

I recieved a mission that required me to train Archeology, or find someone that had it. I opted to train it and as of today have it to lvl 2 going for 3.
In your case I would see if you can get someone that has a MKV already and ask them to haul it for you? Check us out

except he cant. He needs 18,000 cargo in his active ship to even ACCEPT the mission.

You must have missed the memo where freighters are COSMO required.

With cargo expanders you can make a normal industrial take over 25 thousand cargo units. A freighter isn't needed.

So anyone who wants to do one of these few COSMOS missions has to have gallente industrial lvl 5? So much for specialization... _________________

So I have to train 16 days or longer up to Iteron MKV and buy 5x expensive cargo expander for 15-40mil each to get that required cargo space to accept that mission? With 5x "Expanded Cargohold I" you can't reach 18.000m¦ in a MKV. Is that intended? For a mission with a reward of about lousy 2 million isk? I'm an agent runner, not a fulltime-trader.
Such faulty logic in COSMOS missions makes EVE really boring atm.

Edited by: Henka on 14/07/2005 06:07:55 With normal tech1 cargo expanders in my iteron 5 i can take 17300m3 (give or take 100m3), and there is no additional skills for cargospace.
But with cargo containers inside the hold i can take around 15-20% more cargospace (5 of the largest containers and small ones for the remaining m3s), thats 19000m3 (added 15%) give or take 1k m3.
But this is expensive, the containers cost a bit to you know and you move like 250m/sec with 10mn AB. Named containers cost me like 25-30 million each (not up to date on the largest ones, the 24.77% (or was it 27.44?)) and with those i can get up to 30k m3.
but thats 200+ million for expanders alone, and i just barely passed the 25k mark. Its fully possible to move one jetcan a run with mk5 but that will cost you alot of isk, so i rather take 1 extra run per 2 filled jetcans.
Btw, where is the Tech2 cargo expanders?

Unfortunately only the net cargo space (e.g. 17300m¦) counts for the agent, so giant secure containers inside are useless. ____________________ CEO Denial of Service

My Mammoth can hold more than 20k m¦ with 21% and 24% expanders. Put some Giant Secure containers into your Indy and u get more capacity. Another option: bring all u can transport to the dropoff location, then fly back and take some more, and so on until u have all at dropoff station. Then stack it all there and tell it to your agent.

Maybe you can if you can fly a Iteron 5, However the cosmos agents are based in Caldari and Minmatar space i dont know how you can get to 25K with those. My Caldari Transport can get to about 16K and i suspect a mamoth can get to about the same. So without spending god knows how much on Local Hull Expanders or training Gallente indy youre not even going to be near. They who shout the loudest normally have the least to say. |

zrakor - thank you for ur highly informative post, telling us that if we trained for weeks to get an itty V and then paid a lot for expanders we can just about do this mission
the problem is not that u can't haul the amounts - it is easily doable in 2 runs - the prob is that the agent refuses to let u accept the mission if u ent got that much capacity in a single ship (which most lvl4 agent runners, like myself, haven't).
just simply changing the mission so it would give the warning normal missions do, but allow u to accept it anyway
oooh- i think it just flamed a dev (not badly tho, pls don;t hurt me, or ban me, or make concord hate me, or send the whole Jove empire after me, or whatever it is Devs do to ppl hu incurr their wrath )

what i find highly anoying about al this is the fact that, after you complete a cosmos mission, the agent will happily stick an osprey int he cargo hold of my cerburus, or 95k small iron ammo, then leave me sat in space unable to warp due to overloaded cargo, so i then jet the excess and someone else can come along and steal my reward if they so wish.
any chance of this little 'feature' being sorted out?

My Badger2 ist not able to handle this volume. I think, it is a bad style to force everybody to train Iteron.
Plz find a different solution.

"With cargo expanders you can make a normal industrial take over 25 thousand cargo units. A freighter isn't needed."
I think the problem is a silly requirement of having to be able to fit all this cargo in one go. 18k m3 worth of _pistols_ should be perfectly transferrable in any sort of ship, if it was broken into typical containers the ferry missions involve... so what's the point of this particular limitation? o.O;;

I agree, there should be a way to complete COSMOS courier missions without having to do it in 1 go. This will hopefully be changed soon.
However if the mission is bring item from station A to station B (and not to the COSMOS agent himself) this shouldn't be a problem, i.e. you should be able to accept the mission like normal. Therefore this is probably a bug and should be reported.
