Edited by: CmdrRat on 10/07/2005 07:41:35 CCP, wonderful job on the new patch, things aren't 100% but I think this is the best patch roll out ever, minimal trouble for me at least.
Now that we have our new ships, outposts and lots of new skills can we have someone look at the eve-mail system? Because I have access to the corp wallet I get spammed with a billions of bill notices, Evolution has a crap load of offices/factories/labs and thus hundreds of bills each month.
Loading the mail client lags everything and it's just unbareable to work with, I'll go without reading eve-mail for a week or more fearing the time I have to open it up and wait. And just to add to the fun we're now in an offical alliance, so another inbox to check that lags just like the other two.
Like I said, good job on the patch, thanks, now snap the whip on someone and give us a programer for a couple of days to fix this.
Thanks.

Please add an option for accountants to select whether they want to receive the reminder mails or not. Maybe this is a better solution than trying to reprogram the entire client.

Totally agree with CmdrRat. I get lag spikes just recieving evemails now.
Is it just me, or does the client load quicker now as well? WD CCP.

The Evemail system is really sluggish in loading of evemails from server and in deleting large amounts of emails as well. If you select all and press delete, the number of total emails determines the speed at which the next email is deleted. For example, these numbers are not hard, but rather just to give an idea of the pattern.
If you have something like 100 evemails, select them all and delete. The first evemail in that 100 takes say 30s to delete, then the screen refreshes and evemail 99 takes a little less time to delete, like 29s, evemail 98 (28s), evemail 97 (27.5s), and so on. The time taken for each subsequent delete is fractionally smaller than the time taken to delete the previous evemail in a large list.
Also, I would like to see the evemail system log to text files in the \capture directory like how chat logs are done. perhaps \capture\evemails ----\Personal --------\Inbox --------\Sent Mail ----\Corporation --------\Inbox --------\Sent Mail ----\Alliance --------\Inbox --------\Sent Mail
Having a log of your evemails would be nice, you should still be able to delete the mail from your inbox in game, but the text evemail log should stay behind as a backup that can be later archived, or salvaged if you shouldn't have deleted it the first time.
Regardless of what you do, it is clear the evemail system and interface needs love, and it needs it bad. Having your client lockup for 10min while it downloads a few thousand spam letters from npc corps, Then when you do a CTRL+A and Delete to clean up the evemail client you might as well leave it running overnight cause you ain't playing until it's done.
