Originally by: Olivin Patch is great, but what will happen next? My guess is:
1. Highway, missile and levl4 missions combined change will cause some people to leave and spread the bad word. Less new players will come. Those who come, will probably leave the game very fast due the fact that their turtorial agents will send them to low sec where they will die. ( It's funny, but new players don't have any choice, because Turtorial agents is the first what they will see in the game. ) Of course, they won't leave just because they die in low sec, but there are some other factors:
a) New players will discover that the only way to do anything worthwhile in the game, is to invest 2-3 months in the skill training grind, which could be avoided before by selecting Caldari race.
b) New players will discover that before you can became rich in Empire by grinding through missions, but now the only way to obtain the wealth is either to suck veld in Empire or to join 0.0 corp where you will simply suck another ore, but with fancy name. Sure, you can do afk trading, but you must have titan patience and be an ardent fan of wormhole simulator. Nothing wrong with it of course, but it's not very healthy when gap between "first hand" and "new player" just get a lot bigger for no apparent reason.
c) New players will discover that they have almost to chance in conquest for the 0.0. Why? Well, 0.0 ( player controlled environment) is completely opposite to empire, and not in terms of player safety, but because it suppose to be developed and controlled by players. And since most of resources in 0.0 controlled by players then only first hand players had an equal opportunites. Eve is virtual persistent world, where players generally evolve over time, and NPC don't, therefore player controlled resources also evolve (developed) over time, but NPC controlled resources don't ( unless created/nerfed/beefed by CCP). So, how the player, can evolve in the environment which is not evolving (hint: empire)? Before patch it was possible because of lvl4 missions, but after the patch - it's impossible, and not only for solo players, but for the agent runners corps as well. Say good bye to the team work. It's not worth the time.
2. Regional markets will emerge, later. They will suck, because there are no enough manufacturers for each region. Caldari regions will probably suck the most. T2 manafacturing will became less profitable, because on of the biggest consumer sector ( agent runners) been removed from the game. Private cash reserves ( from the lvl4 missions) will depleted very soon and this will effectively decrease prices on everything. Do you have rare drops? Do you consider your self rich in assets? My advice - sell it now, when it's still cash in the game. During the Cold War you want to have a lot of cash in your wallet, not some items which nobody can pay for.
4. COMOS is a novelty, but it's suck so bad, that I want to cry. Why did they ruin an absolutely amazing idea? What's with the camping and idiotic missions? Can CCP think a little outside the "agent-box"? Sad!
5. Any gainers from the patch? Yes, but you must have at least ( ideally everything) below:
a) 15 mil SP or more. b) 1 bill ISK ( cash only) or more. c) Member of power gamers corp. d) At least 4 hours of real time allocated for playing Eve daily.
And if you don't - I don't think that you will enjoy this patch that much. Of course, all above could be not true, I could be wrong and this patch will only improve your game experience.
