From I understand, rats now cycle targets. Which will make once undoable complexes do able now (But sadly ccp nerfed bounties to make such group acvtivies ) with several BS tanking.
Problem now is, how will our friends have mining ops, espically ice mining ops, in 0.0 space. You use to get a BS to draw the rats and tank them and keep them busy. Now you try to do that and your going to have fried ice mining barges.

You should do it the way it suppose to. Blast the rats. Tanking the rats was an option, but it wasnt suppose to be that way.

That really isn't a choice when you have BS size ships around with the layer of protection around a frigate now is it <_<
Perhaps CCP needs to look at beefing up their defenses or maybe introducing a module that you can anchor around the barges ( 0.0 only of course) that prevent locking onto the ships unless you are inside the bubble. Sort of an AOE ECM. Even better would just to be adding it as a side effect to mobile warp disrupters.

I personally think it'd be nice to beat NPCs using wits and tactics rather than just using the limitations of their AI against them. __________________

I agree, but have you actually trained up an alt to fly barge and taken it to low security. I tried it for ****s in giggles and a barge doesn't last very long to 1 cruiser spawn. So just one BS lock and its gone.

NPC's cycling targets is a good thing. It makes the fight more realistic. It's stupid when NPC bs's hoplessly trying to kill a player bs, when softer targets of opportunity are around. More room for tactic instead of simple damage tanking.

I think they should start targetting jet and secured cans too.. for realism and space garbage maintenance.

Easy, your bs awrps in at one end of the belt and engages the rats, draws them his way.
Barges warp in at other end (try something like 200km away ro something) and mine there.
They only cycle through targets inside their optimal/engagement range you know.

Tried running a truckload of shield transfer arrays on the barge and using the remaining weapons to destroy the NPC ships?

solution is easy - capital class mining barges that can tank rat fire long enough for escorts to remove the threat, several things have been under discussion in this thread ----------------------------------------- The price of freedom is eternal vigilance |
