I posted a couple of times about this, heres a sugestion for people who scream about ore/ loot theives. When a npc is killed or a can is jetted then it has a merker on it allowing only the ganged/ corp memebsr access grief free, any one who choses to open the can and take the contents will have a marker put on them allowing the robbed party to attack them with out CCP comming to pod them. The marker can last for @ 30min - 1 hour and will prevent them from going to station or gates as the sentrys will shoot at them as well. By all means the theives will be able to retaliate but only after the first shot in anger is fired.
I feel this would make theft in game more "controled" in the sense that if people want to take big risk for big rewarsd then good luck to them, and the time frame seems harsh but it will mean if they are going to go steal they will want to plan a true old fashioned style robbery. The time frame basicly will prevent them from being able to abuse the fact that they can jump around fro 3 mins instead until it wears off, it could also be used to give them a security hit!
It would make things in high sec space a bit more interesting seeming some people just blatantly abuse the fact you cant touch them, then smack talk for nothing! It would put some justice back in the game and make alot more people happy.

but its not realistic :/
the loot can is just the loose cloud of salvageable parts that fly out from a destroyed ship or structure....but CCPified ;)

This sounds like a fair compromise. I just get sick of people who abuse the system and spew their "haha Im a ****head and you cant touch me" attitude in local chat...its really no wonder so many people think eve is full of griefers. _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base? |

No, loot cans (npc drops) are generic entity and should stay that way, ejected cans are however property of ejector and there is simple way to deal with situation: if taker is not part of the gang or same corp he/she is criminaly flagged toward owner/gang/corp for say 15-30 minutes (same as usual agro timer) thus enabeling victim to turn roles (read: BOOM on thief), this is way simpler and more elegant.
Now reason why i cant say same system can be applyed to drops is they spawn without owner and thus are generic, as such unprotected, this is the risk you need to live with. ----------------------------------------- The price of freedom is eternal vigilance |

on the topic of ore thieves, they are part of the game and they do add spice. The only change i wish for is that if someone steals from me I want the chance to kick his ass.
Ore thieves in noob corps are the biggest carebears of them all. Why should a law bidding citizen of eve be forced to take a sec hit for protecting his assets and pvp'ing.

Edited by: Joshua Foiritain on 13/07/2005 04:03:38 Listening to corp members complain about how someone ran off with their loot and their faction ship bpc is quite annoying... A change would indeed be nice. ------------------
