Regardless of what you end up doing, you'll still want to train cruiser and Weapon Upgrades to level V, so it's not like the Zealot is miles and miles off. Just sayin'. |

Zealot is AWSOME ship. However using it for PVE is like riding a tank to to buy your groceries. If u want to do missions fast and safe go ahead and skill up Battlecuisers (Harbinger can do miracles). For longer run Legion is PVE monster and u can do any lvl 4 mission with ease. (not to mention incursions) And for LOOOOONGER run there is one and only amarr carbear's dream ship --> Paladin

It's a HAC, almost every HAC is strictly a PvP-ship (Ishtar being the only exception) with better options at other sizes in lower tech. In PvP, as has been mentioned, it's one of the best allround ships in the game; capable in both shield and armor with both long- and short range weapons.
Amarr have a very interesting, some what easily accessible, PvE ship in the Armageddon. However it do require a fair amount of skillpoints to shine. The combination of slots, cap-bonus, reach and a whopping 125m3 make it quite outstanding for any typical slugish mission oriented PvE within it's race and tier.
Amarr PvE-progression tend to go from Harbinger to Geddon to Paladin to Archon (depending on what you do, of course; no capitals in empire). It may be worthwhile to at least glance at the Nightmare when you look to the Paladin, but i have a feeling it's alot of skillpoints to bridge for questionable usefulness. |

Not really, the Ishtar offers extreme tanks(both shield or armor) without gimping the DPS or extreme long range dps setups(400+ DPS from sentry drones alone @ 100km for L2 and L3 blitzing). Zealot on the other hand offers a bit worse tank with a bit more damage at 50km while stying fully mobile and not losing DPS to respawns or npcs that switch targets with more gank at closer ranges. The ishtar is the best PVE hac, but the Zealot is very close second, actually overcomes it where time to probe you matters and npcs shoot your DPS. |

I flew a Zealot for PvE for a long time. I've found the Legion is a MUCH better choice, but the Zealot easily tops the Harbinger for tank and DPS.
Do yourself a favor: Try out the Arbitrator. Its drones will make missions a lot easier and it's easily one of the top T1 cruisers in the game. You can't go wrong with drone skills in Eve. |

That Zealots cannot track webbing drones in their close orbit radius is a given fact, not an assumption. I've lost a ratting zealot because of this (actually it was this + neuting BSs along with the webbing/scramming frigs, but same difference), and had corpmates assist me in a couple of other occasions.
For PvE, sadly, there is nothing a zealot can do that a Harbinger cannot do just as well, and an Amarr BS can do even better. Forget about the Zealot for PvE, its sub-par. Just ok DPS (half of what you would do with a BS, less than what you do with a Harby. Forget about the Navy Omen - ok, it does have drones that help you get rid of frigs more reliably, but so do BCs and BSs. Also it lacks the range bonuses the Zealot has, so...again, less than half the range and half the DPS of BSs, same range and less tank + gank than BCs...
Cruisers are meh for PvE, T2 cruisers other than the Ishtar are obsolete for PvE after the T3s were introduced. "War does not determine who is right - only who is left." -- Bertrand Russell |

Zealot isn't too hot for mission running. However the Zealot is great for incursion fleets (its the standard dps ship for armor vanguard fleets which are the best isk/hr from incursions).
for amarr PvE boats
L1: Punisher, Coercer
L2: Aribitrator, Omen, Retribution, Vengence
L3: Harbinger, Retribution, Vengence, Navy Omen
L4: Apocolypse, Abbadon, Navy Apoc, Legion, Paladin
Highsec exploration sites: Harbinger, Vengence, Retribution, Navy Omen
Haven/Sanctum: Abbadon, Navy Apoc, Legion, Paladin
Nullsec exploration sites: Legion, Paladin
C1-C2 WH: Harbinger, Legion
C3 WH: Harbinger as part of a BC gang, Legion for solo
C4 WH: Legion, Abbadon, Zealot, all with logi support
C5-C6 WH: Legion, Abbadon, Zealot all with logi support, Archon for capital escalations
Incursion Vanguards: Zealot, Legion all with logi support
Incursion Mothership: Abbadon, Legion, Harbinger, Zealot all with EXTENSIVE logi support |

Comments? Thanks!
Is it worth it to have sex with a smoking hot girl anytime you want?

get it dude I have many kills racked up in one. the range on a zealot is what puts it over the edge the high resists don't hurt either. make sure you have solid armor a gun skills first. |

tbh if there's some time to train for Zealot the big day is coming, Tier 3 BC's are about to come, who's the best placed to collect KM's on those than the best HAC in the game? |

sometimes smoking hot girl sex is really not worth it, and sometimes it's all you want in the world - it's all circumstantial. Just like the zealot.
Train up for a harbinger or a zealot, then you'll have a cheap disposable PVP ship, then from there train up for the legion, that's one of the PVE boats for incursions and even c1-c3 WH's and I'm sure it will do great in missions. |
