Please note that the prices indicated are taken from the Solarsystems indicated below. They are central to that system and are not to be used as regional pricing, but rather as indicators of the market trends.
12-JUL-05
It is time to try and locate systems that are destined to become hubs for each segment of the galaxy, either regional or racial. There have been a number of suggestions and opinions made by pilots in an attempt to arrive at a set of systems that will rise to what will be called market hubs in the future. To that end the following systems have been visited and daily active prices listed for both sellers and buyers to give an idea of activity in those systems. So for Yulai still stands above the other systems listed. In order for a system to become a hub there has to be a demand shown, and with the exception Jita, which is running a distant second to Yulai at this point, the demand is just not shown by the buyers orders.
Comments and suggestions for possible systems that may rise to hub status is requested. Remember that the market is a free enterprise type arrangement and we will be the ones that really define where the hubs will locate.
Genesis - Yulai û Concord Assembly Heimatar - Pator û Minmatar The Forge û Jita û Caldari Verge Vendor - Alentene û Gallente Domain - Amarr - Amarr

I'd say Oursulaert over Alentene anyday. -----------------------------------------------

Yulai will stay the main market hub for quite awile, as many contracts are based there.

Excellent work - I have linked your images, with due credit, to the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate [ISS] website. Our members are obviously very interested in the development of the market place.

yes, oursulaert has a much greater permanent playerbase because of the agent bunnies. I'd bet on it instead of alentenne.

in terms of accesibility the system Urlen really stands out, however it has not many facilities, does Kisigo?
Renyn is also in an ideal location, and already quite close to Yulai and some popular agent running systems. |

As for Metropolis region, how about Eram ? I set up shop there, it is one jump from Heimatar region so you can easily check prices (3 jumps from Rens I think), and it is halfway between Jita and the new 0.0 pipe into Great Wildlands.
Cool signature coming soon. |

I would argue that the sales volumns and total buy order quantities are more important to identifying hubs than the price per unit of the buy and sell orders.

I live in Alentene and fly through Oursulaert often. Alentene is certainly not a hub, where Oursulaert is. With a triple pilot count in Oursulaert, and a MUCH higher jumps per hour rate, there's simply no doubt.

As far as Sinq Liason goes I believe the most active system is Jel. It is also only two jumps away from Heimatar and one jump from Everyshore.

maybe, but the old hubs in some respects are a relic from the old world order, pure volumes and prices aren't so relevant for determing any new possible regional hubs. it will take some time for the market to re-adjust and these new hubs to arise.

Masu'di - Your map is an excellent start, and I look forward to your continued effort in that area. We used to have a Highway map that was what I used with very good luck. I will see if I can locate an image of it and post it for reference.
Sophie Mae - You are very correct, volumn is very important. However, that would be the case if we were looking for prime location once things were established. For now, we are attempting to find locations where there is existing supply and demand indicators that could be developed into a prime location. This effort is designed to assit us in finding a location that has a good mix of supply and demand, shows a fair amount of activity, and is able to be developed.
I firmly believe that location development is something that we should work at. If we don't then it will be done for us, which I fear will not be in our best interests.
Nice work as usual. I think Pator is the place where most stuff is happening in Heimatar, but that's just my two cents

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. What I meant to suggest was that buy and sell order quantities and sales volumns might be better supply and demand indicators than just the pu's of those orders. By just looking at the pu's for commodities in those systems we learn nothing about whether any of that product are actually exchanging hands, or whether or not the commodity is available in any significant volumn.
You may be using some implied rule or filter on the orders you list the prices for (e.g. only orders for more than 1000 units), but that wasn't necessarily clear from the data presented. For instance pu of some commodity that came from a buy or sell order that was for 1 unit of trit tells us nothing, while a pu of buy or sell orders with significant quantities tells us only that people are attempting to buy and sell there but not that transactions are taking place. The market volumns irrespective of pu will be the indicator that a hub has actually sprung up.
Sophie Mae
PS, I am basically trying to get you to crunch more numbers. <snicker>
PSS, Great work BTW, you should think about selling the info for isk in the form of a market watch newsletter.

in the caldari regions I would pay attention to
Nonni and Sobaseki in Lonetrek
Jita and Niya in The Forge
most selling in the caldari regions is done at or near those systems.
It would be easier to tell this beofre they changed the maket to exclude a filter for constellation.

Great work! It's a real treat for the eyes :)
Just thought I'd mention that Tash-Murkon Prime would, imho, be worth to take a look at. Taking a quick look at the time of this post there are more kinds of Raw, Processed and Advanced materials available at the market in Tash-Murkon Prime than the numbers available in your pictures for the Amarr Region.

Fantastic feed back Mulkir, I will take a look at that system for next weeks indicators. So far I am not very happy with what I have been receiving from Heimatar, Essence, or Domain regions. When looking at region wide numbers they just don't support the regions as being a marketing focal point for either suppy, demand, or traders.
Starting tomorrow I will begin to indicate which items do not even show up on regional wide scans, which should help us all flesh out promising regions and systems.

Edited by: Gueriila on 19/07/2005 19:49:05 In EVE, I'm a professional trader. My daily goal is 20 million isk profit, when able to play in my usual style. (This is actually small beer since one indy load of isogen at a gross profit of only 11 isk per unit clears 25 million; even when selling in the market - which I try to avoid.)
I strongly suggest you reconsider posting the bid/ask prices in an area and change to posting the low/high prices of completed trades, along with total volume. (I know these are the regional figures and if you've chosen the hub systems correctly, they'll be representative.)
What some set of dreamers in deep Podunk are asking for their isogen is immaterial if detailed inspection reveals that they have make no sales at their price within the past 10 days.

Gueriila I do appreciate the feedback. The purpose of this posting is to provide a stimulus for both buyers and sellers alike in the development of central hubs for market transactions. The indicators are based upon prices within 1 jump radius of the named system and are not regional based. While I dabble in trade I can not compare myself to your level of expertise, and to that end I will not attempt to provide a trader's insite into market transactions. To capture both volume of completed trades with their bid/ask prices is beyond the scope of this posting. Additionally that sort of information is highly sought after by traders of all activity levels, and I for one feel that sort of information should be part of the traders vest pocket knowledge.
