and for what now, 1 year? tech2 have been in the game and those BPO's takes some pretty good skills to research/produce from but you need a several alt's and accounts to manage to use them as you want(research/build) even if you are a small corp and have a small collection of bpo's.
now you have put in the freigheters and dread's that require even more bpo's with everything that comes with it(skills/research/production) and not too mention now u need a fleet of alts/accounts if you wanna be able too produce tech2/freighter/dread.
you put in all those flashy adv gunnery/missile skills and all that crap(from a producers point of view ), but for the ppl who actually like the game from the production side of the game you havent done much when it comes skillwise. you still have to rely on the same skills as we had after a cpl of months from release: mass production, lab operation, metallurgy, research
sure we have lots more science skills and industry skills, but none of them are boosting our ability too build/research. all they do is make so we can use the bpo's. we are still limited to 6 in each field. i have 9,325,008 points in science alone(13m with industry skills), but still feels limited in my proffession due to the limitations on the skills mentioned above ==================

advanced production skills would rock
i'm training my 3rd PE 5 char up atm and am using 4 Lab chars. can't we have finally skills that boost the amount of useable labs / factories per char ?

I'm not sure we really need more skills for increased slot useage. BPO shouldn't be copied en masse as it would inbalance & flood the market with BPCs too easily. Items manufacture quite quickly except for the largest of ships and T2 ships. Rental times are for what... 1 week? That's tons of time to keep tossing in new BPs and doing extended runs with huge mineral stocks. The system already allows for a huge capacity of manufacturing. Any more would be "too easy" and inbalance things.

it takes long time and very high skills usually too research t2 bpo's and the same with the production. if you have a cpl of t2 ships for example they are usually into production 100%, then add some t2 modules and all the t1 stuff that comes with it.
for a freighter u will need too occupy(sp?) your slots for 50-75% of your slots 100% of your time, dont even mention the dread.
i can understand that ppl who isnt into production doesnt see the problem on this. maybe should have posted this in the general section to get some more views on this. ppl doesnt seem to read this section that much. hopefully the right ppl do tho  ==================

The problem exists.
Any manufacturing corporation is running multiple extra accounts just to have biomass operating the facilities. 6 Factory Slots if not much if you're doing anything manufacturing related.
Please do not think manufacturing is only flashy T1 and T2 market items! It actually takes many more slots to make T2 components and now the capital chips stuff... Need I mention that assembling one transport ship from already made components (this took lots of slot time too) takes 6 weeks in last phrase. Yes, SIX WEEKS.
Therefore, I am all for advanced manufacturing/science skills. Make them uber hard to learn, we don't care, so long there is an option to trina them.
Unfortunately, making more slots per character might also mean CCP a real threat of quite sizeable surge in account cancellations. Some people will find it unreasonable to sustain this many accounts anymore, OR MAYBE, they will just start making more (keeping already invested into accounts) and stuff will be more affordable!

Agree with Naal and WhiskeyDP on this... Need Adv. Skills for both Labs and Factories....
I already have two accounts.....Guess what  I don't want to, have to buy a third to get more factories or labs....

Theres no balance at the moment, if you've got the BPO You've got the market, thats not balance.
Interceptor BPC's have been in very short demand of late. Escrow is Full of BS BPC's Which are useless and overpriced. Balance is what we need with more TechII BPC's Available.
If the New skill ideas Makes it easier I'm all for it. It will see more Ships/BPCs/Modules available at RESPECTABLE EvE Prices.

You got my vote on this, at least a new advanced industry skill to operate 12 factory slots per char would make large scale production a lot easier!

I agree. Whiel I am not reall yin the position where i need it i see the problem. I think adding atleast anothe skill book for 2 or 4 slot/level would go along way... I dotn feel the market would suffer from this influx of BPC or researched ME's because anyone motived enoughf could simply accomplish this by multiple accounts/or corp involvement. It may lower prices on T2 items because an increased supply from player/corps that hold multiple BPOs would be able to supply more. But Just like USA gas prices supply/demand doesnt always mean cheapier prices.

You know, all CCP has to do is put up a little form letter here and say, "We've read your message and appreciate your comments... .blahblahblah"
And we(some) might feel a little bit better, even if they continue to not DOOO anything about it. At least to know that we're heard and that these forums aren't just for them to, as Whiskey points out, laugh as us. Which is really the feeling I get. Icelandic humor, I suppose.
The moderator is surely reading this message... but see, it kinda stops there doesn't it.

I too could really care less about the dreads and freighters (well maybe freighters a little bit). I'd still like manufacturing to get some love in general.
As far as the skills, they have been suggested before on numerous occasions (see linky for how long ago I did).
I've hung in there a long time, but I'm starting to suspect that manufacturing isn't a priority and never will be.  -D

Absolutely agree we need Adv Mass Prod skill. With every new generation of BPO's the manufacturing process becomes more complicated, but we are not given the tools to achieve what is needed so we buy new accounts or alts. Classic example - I recently started a small freighter-prod operation and just this enterprise takes 6 slots 100%. That's crazy!
CCP please give us Adv Mass Prod skill. Make it just 1 extra slot per skill level, make it VERY expensive, and give it v high skill req's and training time. I think it's only fair given the hugely more complex manufacture process of Eve of today vs Eve of yesterday, for true specialist builders to be able to run 12 slots. In fact forget fair - it's a question of BALANCE.

Advanced Industry skill (reduce manufacturing time even further). Advanced Mass Production skill (increase useable factories past 6) --could be broken down into two skills, much like the market skills were: Logistics (+2 Factories per level) and Advanced Logistics (+4 Factories per level) Advanced Science skill (reduce BP copying time) Advanced Lab Operations Skill (increase useable labs past 6) Advanced Metallurgy (reduce Material Level research) Advanced Research (reduce Productivity Level research) -->Sig |
