1 - Equip a shield regenerator (medium slot) on my Venture and just let them hit me while I mine.
2 - Remove the mining laser upgrade and replace it with a repairer so I can withstand attacks while repairing
3 - Replace one or both mining drones with combat/defense drones
4 - Use a combat ship and do A LOT of back and forth between the asteroid belt and the station (I could do some jetcan mining, but I am afraid people would steal my ore since I won't be equipped to fight back with a ship equipped toward mining)
5 - Whatever else I didn't think about :)

The only thing I want, is to be able to fill my ship without worrying about dying to NPC bandits. (currently with both lasers, both drones and the upgrade, it takes around 15 minutes I think, should be faster as I gain skills)

Do this until you can fly a Mackinaw, then open alt account and repeat 3x til you have an Orca. Never leave highsec again.

The best way to mine aligned is to plot a pair of opposing "warp out" points in-line with your asteroid belt of choice with a fast ship, saving the bookmarks. You'll also want to bookmark the last asteroid on either end of the belt. Then when you mine, you align to "warp out A." When you reach the end of the asteroid belt you warp to "warp out A" and warp back to the end asteroid. Now align to "warp out B" and continue mining. When you reach the end of the belt, warp to "war out B" and then warp back to the asteroid on that end of the belt.

If somebody neutral lands or decloaks in your belt, warp to the "warp out" you are aligned to. If you do, you will enter warp immediately, appearing as "invulnerable" to your potential attacker. Every time.

Now you don't even have to tank your terrible mining ship. You're welcome.

Also, once you have your Orca, stay out of player corps. You don't really need them because the tax doesn't apply to mining. NPC corps are 100% better for miners, no war dec's or awoxing corp killers to worry about.
