From reading the forums, and flying past some of the COSMOS locations, I have come to the following conclusions
Yay! - Agents in space - Storyline mission arcs - Huge standing boost on arc completion - Weird and Wonderful items - Hidden Locations
Nay! - Trawling through backward 0.0 systems looking for agents - Agent/Complex camping, with no chance of getting mission items - Bugged missions - Complexity
Now, will people who have done these missions shed some light on it for the rest of us: - Are the levels of agents similar to the level of normal mission agents. Eg. chances of doing a level 3 cosmos agent in a Raven. - I know you can only attempt each agent once, but what happens if you fail a mission. Can you no longer work with that agent?
It would be good if someone were to post a mini-guide on what to expect.

If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU.

COSMOS missions is more about going down there and figure out what is going on in the constellation. Rewards are not worth the effort atm , but it is fun.
Just got to wait until the worst camping is done.
You cant take your raven through all the accelerator gates , but other places a raven will be good.

Wait for everyone to get fed up with the un-finished patch.... go play for a bit...... then wait for CCP to patch... Wait for the first group to get bored again... then go play for a bit....
This is what I am doing.... Just like complexes... Heck can't find a high sec. complex that isn't camped anymore pretty much...

I like the COSMOS missions don't know anything about trawling through 0.0 systems looking for them, I guess that is for the hidden ones. If you read the DevBlog on COSMOS you'll see the agents are in two regions Okkelen and Ani and there are Agents in ever system.
Yes there are some problems with a couple of missions but I've done loads now and there were only 2 or 3 that required camping to get mission items.
BPCs rewards are not that impressive, they are t1 items with reduced power and cpu requirements. But I have had all five +3 implants, one KVA2000 implant and I know the the Agent that gives two +4 implants. So rewards can be very good.
Difficulty is similar to normal Agents missions. So Lvl3 Agents I can do on my own, but sometimes get a corp mate to help if there are lots of ships to kill as sometimes takes a bit long solo with missile nerf. Lvl4 Agents I've been doing with my Corp mate.
You'll need a few ships classes as not all gates let you use battleships. I've needed BS, Indy and Assualt Frigate (or Cruiser if you don't have one). And bring anything you think you'll need in terms of modules and ammo as not much for sale in these parts.

i found the best reward was the uber standing at the end of the sequence - when i finish the lai dai 3 mission sequence i am on atm, after just 2 3mission sequences for lai dai i have enoiugh standings to use a lvl4 research agent
lots of camping, and BPC sucked tho :(

There are 0.4 systems that are COSMOS with agents in them, check the map.

please correct "weird and wonderful items" to "weird and (not very) wonderful unbuildable (due to components and skills) items that are just like the t1 variant but with lower fitting"

I hear that. Wohoo for my 32.5% EM Resistence passivel shield hardener bpc which requires a bunch of crap and some skills I don't have and will never have to make this uber mod I'd never use :D

Well, got an Assault Launcher that needs only 45MW, maybe fit 2 on a destroyer... but then again, why? ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first. |
