The problem is you're treating it like a single player game. In EVE the political game is a part of it. You need to forge your own alliances, get your own things done. Take the example of the Guiding Hand Social Club and the work they did to take down Ubiqua Seraph. It's a good read of what you can achieve in EVE if you're willing to invest the meta game and time to get it done. You can complain that you're unable to own a number of moons, own a large sector of space and command a fleet of Titans. OR you can do what those alliances do; forge the political links. Fight for the space. Gain control of it. Play the game both in and outside of the client. Basically - the game is what you make of it. EVE Ambulation and Avatars as a separate game - see here

This will take a bit longer for the collaspe. People will get bored ratting and plexing. Capital ship pilots will let subscriptions lapse, people will log in less and less as they get bored just wandering around looking for fights. Less people will be on to defend things. Corps in the OTEC cartel will begin to start asking for a greater share cause they are doing more work, bonds will break, old rivalries will heat up and cracks will appear. Soon the whole house of cards will collapse and it will be all out war the likes of which have not been seen. My guess is 6 months from now. Right now war chests are secretly being filled and assests put in stratagic locations. This all of course my uneducated guess and rumor mongering. The process will start over and in a year or so we will be having this same discussion over again.

Got to love uninformed trolls. You know this situation has occured before with one big alliance holding most of space...you know what happen? It failed. Ultimately the powerblocks will fracture and things will move again. Think of it as a time of stability to make some serious cash. If you want your own space, fight for it.

Over-reactions aside, I daresay a large bulk of high sec (and low sec'ers, too) really don't give a whit about these "controlling" factions. Let's be brutally honest here: high sec'ers tend to stay in high and occassionally low, with no need or desire beyond simple curiosity to head to null, either sov-held or NPC null. Nullies (and their alts), on the other hand, seem to regularly go to high for various reasons, not the least of which are (according to recent excellent threads) industry and griefing high sec'ers. Don't you think that says something more than the drama laid out by the OP? Of the "controlling" alliances you note above, I know of Solar, and that's about it. I couldn't tell you who's in HBC, CDC, N3, KFC, ADHD, or WTFP0WN without looking them up. EvE's far from dieing, in fact our game is doing rather well, Dust is doing good. As for the Alliances you mention, Null has changed hands many times in the past. No such thing as an invincible Alliance/ Colition and those that thing they are are sadly mistaked as history has shown. Theres a storm coming to null that god nor CCP can stop, its been brewing for a year, 6 months from now remember what i said -áVote for Malcanis for CSM8
