Originally by: Grey Area The truth of the missile modification is that Torpedoes are no longer a feared weapon. I offer the current market situation as proof of this, where the Arbalest Siege Launcher has fallen in price from 70 million ISK prepatch, to less than 30 million post patch. I have a suggestion to correct them, so I hope someone is listening.
That's only because Siege launchers aren't the Be-All-End-All weapons anymore. And AFAIK, 30 millions is also the average price for Protos 425mm rails, modulated mega pulses and equivalents auto-cannons/artilleries.

First...increase the damage that Torps do as base from 600 to 750. This is not much of an increase when you think of a large turret that can hit for over 1000 (over 1500 in some cases)
So, with your suggestion, one torpedo hit would do, with maxed skills, from 891 to 1113 damage? Here, I'm hard pressed to restrain myself from using colorfull words.
FYI, in my Apoc with 2 damage mods, my modulated mega pulse can do up to 750 damage on wrecking hits, with MF cristals and on structure. A wrecking hit has about 1% chance of happening...

Drastically reduce the impact of signature radius for torpedo hits on Cruisers.
Slightly reduce the impact of signature radius for torpedo hits on frigates.
Not only no, but HELL NO! The whole point of the overhaul was to break the siege launcher effectiveness against EVERYTHING. A pre-patch raven pilot using assault launchers and drones to deal with frigates would have been laughted at by his peers, while ships like Armageddons or Dominix were forced to use drones and/or small weapons, thus reduced greatly their anti-BS capacity. Maybe you think it was balanced?

Introduce hardwiring implants that give bonuses to missiles equivalent to those currently available for turrets.
Agreed

Introduce medium slot modules that reduce the signature radius effect for missiles.
No. I'd agree with a mid-slot module increasing flight time or velocity, but not with something that might allow a Raven to swath an interceptor with one or two volleys of cruise missiles.

Introduce a laser based anti-missile defence. This would not always hit, but would have a high rate of fire, and high energy use...
Point defense modules and cruisers are already planned.
About your idea of anti-missiles drones and delay activation, do you realise that it would allow a Blasterthron to close within 10km from you, and then sudenly be impossible for you to kill?
Now you have choices to make: You can use torps for maximum damage, but you'll you be just as vulnerable to EW than most BS, you won't kill frigs almost contemptuously, and you'll be ill-fitted for long range combat. Every gun user has to choose between max damage at short range, moderate damage at long range, and anti-frig. Why not missile users? What you suggest, while not always unreasonnable, would be abused to resurrect the cookie-cutter raven.
