I thought since ccp is making all these skills and equipment for gangs. Maybe they should make some kind of a mining gang bonus. For example a skillbook that gives +5% to mining amount. And +5% to miner range, +5% to cargo capacity... i can come up with some more. But the point is, why not make mining a little more fun?

You are a genius, but I must destroy you for trying to encourage mining ---

I like the 5% cargo and range...not sure if actual mining should be given a 5% boost...most dedicated mining ships can barely hold what they bring in.

Lol man if you are dedicated you know how to stagger. (oh the days when we had less than 2 wars at a time and I actually had time for mining and beers :)

Definetely too much for a simple gang bonus. It should be either given with the use of command ship and modules or not given at all.

Sorry if i didn't make this clear. But i ment +5% to ship cargo. So it shouldn't be a problem...

Wouldn't that allow you to carry a Dreadnought in a freighter? So no, it would never happen.

If i understand you right... These skills are ofcourse not gonna be added together from all the gang members. It's gonna be like it is now in eve: "Only the bonus of the Gang Member with the highest level in the skill is used" So if my math is right then the best transportship would carry 7500 m3 more. I thought this was obvious. My bad.

Edited by: Soulie on 15/07/2005 20:19:42 Wonder if somebody in ccp is gonna read this thread. I think this idÚa should be considered, looks like some people agree that mining needs to be more fun n interesting.

Edited by: Sobeseki Pawi on 15/07/2005 20:53:50 A general cargo skill could solve a few issues, and not entirely with the industry side of things, combat pilots need cargo as much as anyone.
But I would say 2%, not 5%.

He didn't say transport ships, he said freighters. CCP recently lowered the max cargo of freighters so that with the skill bonus they would not be able to break 1 million m3, thus not be able to carry a dreadnaught. If someone were to train this skill and create a gang, they could possibly break that.

having a 'gang cargo' bonus is bad, when you leave the immediate area with your gang you lose the bonus so, Badger 2 cargo cap of 10000 (for instance it a little lower with my skills and expanders) 10000 x 1.20 (gang cargo lvl 4 ) = 12000 so when the indy warps off to drop his load he will auto jettison 2000m3 of cargo as the bonus will no longer apply.

While mining yield bonus might be a bit much, there's still uses to be seen here. Especially a bonus that makes crystals less likely to break, which will also (probably) eventually be something you'll see in high-grade weapon crystals, too. (how else to balance T2 Antimatter to T2 Multifrequency?) -- If TC causes you discomfort that you feel is unwarranted or may be outside TC's current contract - contact me, please.

well if in future people mine in a moros that can outmine a covetor and has a larger cargobay to boot the increase in mining yield would just put it over the top then ^^
