I've recently put up a POS in a 0.0 system. All well and good. Claimed sovereignty. Next downtime, we were delighted to see the alliance flag on the system.
But the downtime after, it vanished again, and not returned. We've checked every other moon in system, and we're 100% certain that we're the only POS. Has anyone encountered this? Is there a bug involved, or is there something we've missed? I've put a petition in, but I get very pessemistic about response times from those.
I guess I'm wanting to know if we're the only ones with this problem.

we have about 5 systems not showing on the map and not receiving the souvereighnity bonus. all systems showed up 1 day. then not anymore. not hidden by this are systems where the pos were installed before the cold war patch.

Lost it today also, was asked to submit as detailed a bug report as possible as they are trying to reproduce the problem so as to solve it.
In my case I put up one base, got sovereignty, a day later put up another and still had sovereignty, then I remembered to set the second to claim and the day after lost the sovereignty . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

This is very serious and noone replies. Petitions about the issue are totally ignored. This is a case where game mechanics clearly don't work. Sovereignity works normally for some days, then disappears. In 0.0 it's hard to schedule hauling of fuel. If we can't depend on a consistent consumption we have a big problem. At least a post from devs that are aware of the situation would be appreciated. Because I doubt so many people are doing something wrong.

I petitioned it a few days ago, and got a reply yesterday. I was told we have to file it as bug report. Unfortunately CCP can't track sovereignty status back in time, so there will be no compensation.

All i can say on this matter is that it is currently being investigated. Please keep filing bugreports with each new instance of this happening, giving firm details of which system, where you POS(es) are located, and when you first noticed sovereignty to be lost.
Screenshots of your management windows at this time, and if sovereignity returned to the system and when will also be useful.

That's pretty lame since this costs POS owners to throw more good isk after bad whilst it is ongoing, unlike the majority of petitionable problems.
Also I believe the bug where a POS set not to claim still claims is not fixed/back now

If no compensation is provided, I'm going to be very very unhappy. And we know what happened last time . 3500 account signups and growing - 6% of all eve acounts by my guess. | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |

I appreciate that there are bug hunters aware of the problem. I still have this nagging itch that my POS is eating more fuel than it should though, reducing my margins substantially.
Oh well, I suppose I could always go and take the tower down and wait, but ...

Maybe they are busy checking into the problem...?? Maybe you would rather them look into their problem than sitting at their desk answer each and every single whiney petition they get due to it??
Don't know bout you but since they have SAID they know about the problem and the FILE BUG REPORTS- then I would rather have them fixing the damn thing instead of replying to whiney. Vice-Admiral

To be honest, yes this is a fairly big problem, but right now I'd rather the devs were trying to sort out the very, very, high occurances of people getting stuck atm, as well as the other server crashes. Once the game is stable again I suspect this will be getting a lot more attention.

How about we all put our accounts on hold for a month until CCP sorts their xxxx out!
I really can't be bothered submitting any more petitions etc - for game mechanics problems, especially when you ALWAYS just get the standard automated response, followed by the:
Quote: We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within 48 hours. Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.
Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you - WTF?!?!?!!

Unfortunately, whilst this is pretty certainly a bug, i'm prepared to bet they'll be unable to tell when it _should_ have been properly soverign flagged.
Oh well, maybe I'll be bankrupt by then, so it won't matter :)

I'm sure this has been said before but I'll say it again... Step back and relax guys, getting stressed and ranting won't help. I was a Guide on EQ for about a year and I assure you that being rude, screaming, threating to cancel accounts, demanding reimbursement, yadda yadda yadda, never helps and, believe it or not, is actually counter-productive. I can tell you from real experience that the best way to get good service from a Guide or GM is to be polite, informative and be at your gorram keyboard!
I'm also an IT guy by profession, providing mission critical server support for thousands of users at a time and I have been for over 10 years. Guess what? We don't like bugs in the system any more than the user does! And another thing, guess what reaction I have to a screaming, stamping, whining prima-donna of a user? Yep, straight to the back of the queue.
Understand that anyone that can bring a game as complex as this to market and keep it running for two years with an average of 95% availability is no bunch of fools. They're going to take your reports seriously and try and fix them as soon as they can. Staffing issues, unexpected faults etc all cause stuff to be juggled. They have to prioritise and if your particular fault isn't fixed yet, someone else's IS fixed.
So chill. Keep your tongue civil and go get some fresh air. Sounds like you need it!
Cheers, Sal

Confirmed, sovereignty issue is fixed and on first inspection fuel usage appears to be correct for fuel reduction bonus. ____________________________
