I was removing guns and moduals from my ship today into my hanger and realized that it would be nice if I could make a new hanger folder or something in game (would be a new window or tab) so I could lable it: "current weapons setup" and throw everything in there. Then go and refit my ship for mining. Or if I already had a tab named "mining setup" I would go there and refit my ship with thoes objects. This would save me time and headache of wondering which moduals and weapons I had on my ship before I fitted it with mining equipment.
This would also allow your own personal hanger management and organization. I could move all my really good items into a new tab and name it "high end items" and then I woudl know, anything in there is the good stuff.
I know you can do this with secure containers but that way doesn't seem as intuitive, also I don't want to haul new containers to new hangers just to split my items up. Plus they take up space that I sometimes don't have on my current ship i'm moving stuff with.
Feedback and thoughts welcome.

Those are called station containers and comes in 3 sizes (small/med/large)...
forgot the names right off.

Yes, station conatiners. But thoes require me to buy them somewhere and them move them to the hanger i'm currently occupying (sp) correct? Perhaps there's something I don't know about station containers. Everytime I tried to move a large secured container they took up too much room (let alone move 5 in case I wanted to split my personal hanger up into 5 sections). What i'm proposing is that we have containers (so you can get all yoru stuff into one area and then put it on a ship) AS WELL AS be able to split up your hanger my way so you don't have to hassle with containers.

nvm, I just read what station containers are and they seem to be what i'm looking for, except that I have to buy them. My next question: are these avaliable at EVERY station much like shuttles are?
Feeling a little embarressed here...lol

they are at every station. My only issue with them is that I have to unlock stuff all the time. Just gets kinda annoying.

Station containers should be able to be docked into a tab like the Ship and Items can be. Each station could have its own unique setup.
BTW, instead of station containers, you can use the assets to seperate the different type of items in our hanger. Look under the station tab.

The problem with station container is that when not in the station you can see what's in them. So a major pain when buying stuff and wanna see if you already own it. next thing you know you have 5 of everything. Because you couldn't see into the station container.
Also it locking the damn items every time a item is placed in it is uber annoying

I don't like Containers. Yes they help with the sorting problem, but the tabs like the Cortporation hanger has is so much easyer.
It would be nice to see player hangers with tabs, even if it was only 3, and even if we coulnd name them - as this would safe resourses I guess.
Contains are not movable, and if you decide to move your station of operation the containers cannot be sold/trashed for three weeks - this in itself must course more server side thinking that allowing us players to have 3 or so tabs?
And again, container itesm are locked, an then need unlocking. You also cant repackage items inside a container. Maybe just little things, but sometimes the little things count

Yes, you all hit on EXACTLY what I was talking about. Tabbed player hangers that operate like the corp hanger tabs. Didn't know the containers locked ;that's a bummer. Ideally each tab could be renamed/deleated/added at will to fit your personal organizational needs. I'd deff like to see this in game.

Yeah, I want this overhauled too.
I'd like 6 or 7 tabs to sort stuff into - I use stationcontainers now, but they are a pain.
I'd also like the assets system completely changed to be like the market - you use it in the same way as market to search for items, but that are in your assts, it comes back telling you how many you have, how many jumps away etc (I know you can search now, but the current search doesn't count anything in containers.......

Signed. Station containers are lame, even with the 'unlock' setting that was long overdue.
I want my personal hangers to have tabs just like the corp hanger has. Eight of them. Allow me to customize the names of the tabs. The tabs will then be the same names for each personal hanger in each station just like corp hangers work.
And I still want the asset seach feature to work too. I don't care if it tells me which tab the item is in, but i do want to know the station. Don't break anything by giving us more functionality.

another point i dont think has been mentions is you cant remote sell or place escrows from cans, so if you are trying to clear out some loot from a distance using escrows your out of luck if its all in a can.
personal hanger divisions 4tw and surely they must be simple to implement.

Can't get station containers in 0.0 and any other type of container has to be hauled out from empire, making them insanely expensive.
I'd like to have tabs on my personal hangars, would make sorting out all my crap so much easier...
