A quick Comic strip!
http://loy-ashivara.deviantart.com/art/Poor-drones-352808826
It seems every time I buy new ones I end up forgetting them somewhere the same day. :P
Is there any advice in how to remember or something that calls them back if you prepare to go somewhere and forget to call them manually? Or is it simply something one gets used to after forgetting them around 80 times? |

Keybind DronesEngage to F11 and DronesReturnToBay to F12. Press F12 every time before you leave. |

I do it all the time in PVP. in pve i tend to be more careful and treat my drones like my babies and even have a little mournful speech when one die ^^..
yes i am crazy.
I found keeping the drone window open and somewhat close to my targets also helps me keep track on when they take aggro. (specially those pricy fighters).
But yeah... drones.. and forgetting them in space.. we all done it. |

You people are the reason there is a rogue drone problem. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Dones?
Otherwise I always recall mine after they kill their targets. Its the only way to be sure. I used to make a lot of money as a new player collecting lost drones. I mine in EVE because I'm too drunk to fish in WoW.-á |

I've switched to a Tengu because I was really bored and tired of fidgeting around with drones. Now I find myself trying to recall drones I don't have. What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about? |

Also expand the Drone Control Window so you can see the 5 drones you have in space with their color bars. The color makes you not forget. F12 is not the best to reassign as it is already bound to help, which is of particular use to rookies. That said, default shortcuts suck so hard and should be changed. Get in the habit of hitting your recall shortcut every time before you warp and every time all hostiles are dead. Maxim 34: If you're leaving scorch-marks, you need a bigger gun. |

Eh, you can get help from the side-bar, and it's not something where seconds matter that really needs a single-key bind.
Plus it pops up unsolicited until you tell it to buzz off. I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

One can collect others drones? That explains why they are not there if one goes back to se if one can get them.
Lady Naween- Dont worry, I'm a bit crazy too. But keeping the drone window more in veiw helps, Thanks for the tip. :)
NightCrawler85- 6 years? Damn thats impressive! And here Iv only played for 6 days! xD
Kehros Urgus- Know the feeling, Now when I dont have any drones I keep remembering to try and recall them.
Mkint- Which keys would you suggest to bind them to?
CC Avalos- Thanks. :) I just got mad on myself forgetting them so I just doodled up this comic for them. |

I bind the 'All drones engage' and the 'Return to dronebay' shortcuts to the side buttons of my mouse. |

Ahh, new meat :)
Welcome to the game. I hope you like it.
Lihallerix Redwood wrote: Mkint- Which keys would you suggest to bind them to?
Bind it to keys that are easy to reach for you. I use the WASD keys + nearby keys for modules so F is the key I use for drones. F to make them pew pew and shift+F for making them return to safety (if it's possible to call that safe, my ships tend to explode quite often) The Logi Pilot we need... Not the Logi Pilot we deserve |

Yes. Im definitely fresh meat. :P noob and all. And eager to learn.
Hmmm, That seems like the best suggestion so far, since I dont have any keys on the side of my mouse. and engage is already set to F. Thanks for the advice. :) |

Personally I use `(~) for attack and Alt + R for return. I use (~) because it keeps the engage button close to my F1 so I can have guns and drones going at the same time.
I use Alt + R cause it fits in with my habit to press Ctrl + R to reload my guns after each room of a mission. The Drake is a Lie |

Pffft try flying Minmatar for months and the coming back to Amarr and trying to reload lasers.
Or playing standard FPSes for years and then playing Hawken and trying to reload every each engagement... The Drake is a Lie |
