OK for ONCE tabloid news is something relevant and good.
the cops allege the truck was driving down the street with its headlights off. wrong place wrong time to look shady.
it was near one of the highest concern security patrols among the police protection addresses. this was not a random truck in the greater los angeles area--it was on or near the street of the residence of one of the more prominent targets of the suspect's.
also, the real suspect changed license plates and could've been in the blue truck.
wrong place, wrong time to be driving a truck with headlights off.
wrong place, wrong time to be joe blart in blue
ROE in Iraq and Afghanistan was -always- "fire only when fired upon." as a Soldier on the ground, the decision is, "does this look threatening enough to go to prison if I'm wrong"
pickup traveling -away- from me? my opinion: putting holes through the tailgate was probably a bad decision. EDM? you mean EFM |

"protect and serve the people" that's a very common misconception. save for a world where minority report is real, the police have no legal basis or mandate to act -before- a crime is committed or a law is broken. only after. EDM? you mean EFM |

true story: i was headed down to san antonio from Hood in my sister's grand am. the rear license plate light was out, and a highway patrolman pulled me over for it. he ran my license and all that, my last ticket was six years prior, and I was born in El Paso... then he mentions that TX highway patrol is hiring.
holding a conversation with the patrolman wearing his smoky the bear hat, about the benefits of becoming a TX highway patrolman... at nighttime, with traffic going by, and him bathed in the light from his patrol car... was one of the oddest moments of my life EDM? you mean EFM |

huge failure in my opinion.
like, every couple hours on mission in Iraq, I was -sure- I was going to die or get blown up. but you just... hold your fire so you don't go down like the two who shot the newspaper delivery ladies.
huge huge huge failure. EDM? you mean EFM |
