This really seems like a lot of work to set up a moderate return - those expensive implants still need to be purchased. The clones still need to be situated.
The only real value to this would possibly be an impressive KM or just some twisted LuLz. Mostly, it's just going to make the seller look like a flaccid reproductive organ. EVE is EVE - Feaces will eventuate. |

Well, since the GMs came out and point blank said don't do it, it's mostly going to get the ISK sent back to the buyer, and the seller a shiny ban.

Edited today. Congrats, OP, you made a new rule. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

The isk was spent on the items in question. How is it a scam when you actually paid for them?
You can't get your clone out? Just how bad are you?
Anyone that keeps high level clones in 0.0 either 1, has something jump capable, or something stealthy in that station, and an alt with eyes available. Anything less and you deserve what happens to you...

Anyway, not really a scam. There's nothing to gain from doing it besides tears. So just ask where the clone is. The point! The clone with the implants is in a station in territory which has a high chance of losing said clone as soon as he undocks! Furthermore, the buyer didnt actually get what he paid for! A clone with implants in highsec! Saying "he didnt ask" is bullshit. The buyer was *mislead*! The buyer now feels screwed and spreads the word! Its bad for character trading business as a whole, especially considering that CCP takes that part of their income pretty seriously...
Wow, you didn't really think before posting, didja?
You should go back to popping pods in Hek and leave the posting to people who know what they're doing... less embarassing for you that way. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." -á --- Sorlac |

Good one. First, i think that most of the pilots from nullsec alliances do not keep jump capable ships in the nullsec station where their main alliance is located. They might not even be able to fly them. It's not needed; they can buy one, or borrow, or simply undock; WHILE THAT STATION BELONGS TO BLUES would not be a problem. However before the sale the char must be in NPC, so the buyer will not be blue anymore. He will not be able to buy and fit ships, and he will be shot on sight when undocking. Also, even if i had any jump-capable or covert ships there, assets are not sold along with the character, so he will get nothing. He will only have one unarmed, defenseless rookie ship to get the clone out of hostile territory. |

Not really a scam, but there is nothing to gain from it anyway. If you want to get someone to rage it might work, but most people probably would find it a minor inconvenience rather than a complete ripoff. If they know what they are doing they could probably get the clone out of there. |

Caveat Emptor "buyer beware". It's the responsibility of the buyer to do his homework. A simple, "where are any jumpclones located and what implants do they hold" should suffice. |

Who's to blame? -the buyer respecting his part of the contract or the untruthful idiot thanks to who a new rule is added?
If that guy (seller) was looking for his 10min of glory I think he just got them, now should we "clap" or [:doublefacepalm:] ?

Rule 6. Items cannot be listed among the character's valuable assets, only skills, implants and reputation. You are buying/selling the character ONLY and nothing else. Ships and items can be readily bought on the market for ISK.

I fail to see how its a scam, as the inflated character price must be offset by the expensive implants, regardless of where they're located. It does, however, make you a **** to be so nasty for no actual reason. Post with your main, like a BOSS! |

But you've missed the point. If the seller says "The character has a clone with such and such implants" then he has not been untruthful. If he lied then that would be a different matter. Any untruthful statement is a misrepresentation and renders a contract voidable.
It would be up to the buyer to ask "and where are these clones/implants?" Legally, you could make the argument that the seller has made a "half-truth" but either way, if you are buying something, do the due diligence and ask the right questions. |

And you felt the need to make a snide comment?
Scamming of any kind is completely wrong in character trading, AND real money is involved in the transfer fee. If you plex scammers can't figure that out, well just go back to Jita spamming. ANY type of misrepresentation in a character transfer and you will feel the wrath of GM's.

Yeah, no bet. Seriously, it's only a 3 page thread, and most of the replies are short. Is it really that hard? This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.
