Just something that came across my mind on a long roam. There is a bed in the captain's quarters so they must sleep in stations. However, sleeping in a pod is something else entirely. Because the capsuleer is connected to the ship itself, would falling asleep cause the ship to shut down? What about dreaming in a pod? |

The capsule has redundancy measures to keep you from falling asleep in it. It'll pump SO MUCH caffeine into you. However, there are limits to the human body, such that at least once during every 24 hour period, you'll get at least 30 minutes or so of sleep. CONCORD mandates that this time period occurs every day between roughly 11:00 and 11:30 to keep terrible things from happening. Is it possible to turn off these redundancy measures? Since to my understanding only larger capital ships allow capsuleers to exit their pod in-flight, so anything smaller would have to dock once a day (or at least once every few days) if they can't sleep properly while inside the pod. |

Any ship equipped with the cross-capsule gantry can do that - not sure exactly what ships it's limited to, but... vOv
Also, getting out of your capsule works wonders for bypassing stuff like that.
I'd take a warm bed over a bunch of goop any day (or night, as it were).

What if you could just re-clone every time you got tired, too? What psychological effects would that have on the brain; that constant "continuity"? What happens to the human mind after 100 hours awake? 1,000? 10 years?
It's a fascinating question. I once hoped to dig into it myself, so I hope other capsuleers explore it and share their thoughts and speculation! |

This post by Falcon states that anything sub-supercapital doesn't have the proper equipment to allow a capsuleer to exit the pod in-flight. Hence why I asked if it's possible to turn off the "redundancy measures", since otherwise a capsuleer piloting a sub-supercapital ship is artificially limited from spending more than a few days away from a station. |

It occurs to me that (according to crew guidelines) if you're going to gut a ship (say a cruiser sized ship) of 700 - 200 = 500 (max) or 200 - 10 = 190 (min) living quarters when you install a capsule aboard. There might be just enough room for an internal pod gantry... somewhere... *stares poignantly*
Otherwise we're talking 20,000 - 1000 = 19,000 minimum (supercarrier) crew quarters/support areas having to be removed before there's enough room for what amounts to a goo pump and a shower. |

Both bodies and consciousnesses of capsuleers require rest. There is no way to evade resting, lack of it would kill not only the clone, but the consciousness as well. The only difference between mere humans and capsuleers is that capsuleers can afford to move to artificial bodies, thus extending their lifespans in this segment. |

Hmm, that's an inconsistancy, considering the pod gantry built into all starships was a special but not entirely uncommon modification to ships already heavily modified to accommodate capsuleers. Looks to me like CCP Falcon decided to just change set lore on his own whim (or either he simply didn't read into the canon)... To me looks like neither of you know how to read.
Alright, let's phrase this a bit more politely. Falcon mentioned on the linked post that "most vessels that are sub super-capital don't have the on board facilities to provide a place for capsuleers to decant". The negation of "most" is not "none", but "some". Therefore, we may assume that some vessels that are smaller than supercapitals do have the onboard facilities to provide a place for the controlling capsuleer to decant.
If we want to wave hands at the issue, I would assume that the vast majority of ships do dock regularly, which greatly reduces the need to have onboard facilities for something found on every station anyway. Docking regularly may also be considered a behaviour that should be reinforced, since this makes the mighty demigod Empyreans momentarily vulnerable. |

One would presume a stand-by bridge for non-capsuleer watchstanders, and one would further imagine that there's some kind of 'wake me up' button placed there.
Abusing the 'wake me up' button may result in a sudden vacuuming of the stand-by bridge. Cleanliness is important, you kow! Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.
