"Who remembers the Coalition of Curse? (Or was it the Curse Coalition?)"
Well it was the Curse Coalition (I helped to set it up), and it consisted of a small group of corps who had been living in Curse from sometime before the pirates decided to set up home there. Shortly after which all corps in the region were given one of two options
1. Leave Curse 2. Join the newly formed CA
After a little while we decided to go with option 3
3.Stay in Curse and shoot all the Pirates.
Some of the main corps in them early days who decided to fight against the 'Evil Empire' included the likes of Tyrell Corp, Birds of Prey, MHI, Eye of God and a few others. At the time hostilities started its fair to say we were all a little green when it came to PVP, and after our first Major Engagement resulted in a complete defeat on our part....we very soon got up to speed. Thanx to the over bloated CA the CC lived what to this day is still knows as 'The Happy Times'. There was a Hauler through every jump gate and targets everywhere.
After spending the early days of the CC as a group of small corps and due to the fact that the game mechanics at the time didn't support official alliances it was decided that the main member corps of the CC would all join the largest corp of the group Tyrell Corp so that we could more easily pool resources and pilots. This was a major success, to the point where we felt that we were really making some in roads into our totally unachiavble goal of kicking the CA out of Curse.....and then came Castor :(
No longer did the CA have to make 15+ jump trips out to the high end belts which they could only do with heavy escorts (due to us), Arc was everywhere, CA pilots were getting very rich, very quickly. and no matter how many we blew up we just couldnt make any realistic dent. At this point we then decided to team up with one of our closest allies the SA, because the only way we could now hope to compete was to play the numbers game and the fact remained that we just didnt have them alone. That was the end of the Curse Coalition.
The above is how i lived it, im sure others will have their own spin :)
