Hi, I would like to know what skills you have to get a base damage with a cruise missile of 504?
Actually it's ~529 base damage and 8,14sec rof atm. T2 cruise launchers, spec skill L3, new missile skills L4 and 3 x DG ballistics.

Because it is not required to complete the mission. As for the time required to do Guristas Extravaganza post patch, I did it in two hours today. I have to say I have gotton more skills and better equipment in order to keep doing this mission at said speed.

lvl 4 can still be done in a Raven or any BS for that matter, even in a HAC some of them can be done if you have a few weeks to kill....
Anyway lvl4's are now as the devs intended them to be darn hard to do, but possible for experianced players to solo (with good skills of course) but a lot better to do in a group setup.
Since soon™ we will have the command cruisers that give even better command bonuses than the battle cruisers do now doing these in a group will be come quite the picknick and even tougher lvl5 misions will follow quickly after that if they are not deployed at the same time as next big patch (which is my guess at this point in time).
As a mission runner my self I can say lvl4's can be done not with ease but they can be done solo. It is just that they are now a chalange and you can not do them afk like you used to in a raven. They make a little less ISK/Hour but if you are looking for that you should go mining in a 1.0 with your apoc

I can solo lvl4s in my Raven, on occasion I get assistance which can be very welcome on the ds missions as it makes them that much quicker to do. I use a longrange cruise sniper set-up since the patch, which works very well as it effectively negates the need for a painter (which only gives minimal advantage when used on frigs anyway) as the npcs very obligingly try to mwd (in deadspace? but thats another issue) to me giving themselves a whopping sig penalty and allowing my cruise to hit for near to full (before res). The RoF adjustments to cruise has made it easier to break a npc BS tank and I actually find I can cream them more easily now then I could with a pre-patch torp raven. Just as it should be IMO with the fact that cruise is higher rank than torps.
Non-DS missions go in at 100km take a bm and start popping the frigs. If they get in too close warp-out and come back using the bm made at warp-in. (This is mainly as I still don't trust my drones to actually shoot what I send them after, without stopping off for a party/gossip/change their minds)

Megathron here. 20M SP. Don't raeally have a problem at all with LV 4's (Except Angel Ext).
I generally use
5 425 T2's
2 Large named SB's (For Frigs)
4 T2 cap rechargers
1 Larger AR II
4 N-type hardeners
1 T2 stabalizer
1 named Stab.
If I get 4 or more BS on me then I can be forced to warp out but in general I can enter a LV 4 and finish it without havign to leave. It's that whole "looting" thing that annoys me the most. Where can I get me some of those garbage collector drones anyway?

When you veterans are talking about tanking in regards to ravens-- what type of tanking? -- Shield or Armor--as a new player i am curious to know the most effective tank so i can start building the appropriate skills

I'm a Raven user, but to be honest with you, if the mission isn't bothering you with webbing and warp scrambling frigates, an Armaggedon with tachs, megabeams and dual heavy beams is a better and more economical choice, cleans missions for much less cost and time. The Geddon wipes out even frigates much faster---and for no cost---at over 50km. Sometimes a frigate just goes pop the moment you press on the tach's activation button.

If you want to use cruise then ideally you need BCS in the lows to help break npc bs tanks which makes it kinda tricky to armor tank. So really shield tank is the way to go. Make sure you get and train the new shield compensation skill, it'll make your cap last longer so you can tank longer.

Still doing most lvl4's in my raven like i was doing pre-patch, only ones i've declined are the 'Silence the informant', 'angel extravaganza' and any drone missions (never did the drone missions before anyway). doing my first Guritas extravaganza right now, it's not going too bad.
All i've had to do is change my setup to the following (well for this mission anyway):
3x XT-9000 Cruise Launcher
3x limos Siege Launcher
2x 150mm compressed
4x active hardners
1x T2 Xl Shield Booster
1x Shield amp
3x T2 PDU
2x Balistic controls
4 heavy and 4 medium drones
(anything with less Battleships in it: Usually 6 cruise, 2 250mm. A target painter insted of a hardner in the mids and a extra BCU in the lows.
It's not that hard really. 
Oh and to the guy who had trouble with the raven at the end of Vengence, just kill everything else first then come back with 6 siege and all BCUs in the lows, with some sort of tank in the mids. Thats how i kill him.

Okay for people that specialise in ships that dont have missiles any suggestions from the vets
Currently my ship of choice is a Domi currently at approx 2.4mill skillpoints
Setup
High = 6 x proto 250mm railguns
Med = battleship sized ab or mwd x5 webber 3 x cap rechargers(working on cap recharger 2 skills and hoping by the time i get there i will be able to afford them)
Low = Large accomo rep med t2 rep 1600mm nanofiber and either 3 hardeners and a cap relay or 4 hardeners by themselves
Can currently fly 12 drones at a time
Now i know i am a fair way off lvl 4 missions but with the domi and these skills but just curious, how would a vet rate a domi in doing level 4's and the minimum skill requirements needed
i know this thread primarily deals with missiles just thought i would throw a spanner in the works for those that dont get to use em :-(

Well after the patch i was shocked with the changes and started training all missile skills to lvl 4 now but still my torps setup sucked , Thanks to inspiration i tried a full cruise setup now XT-9000 and it works liek magic but i still have a problem with BS spechialy tanked ones like userpers although i have np with SDP  i am reconing that this is coz i have cruise at lvl 3 and working to lvl 4 now , not sure if getting it to lvl 5 will be worth it or not to icnrease my dmg on BS sicne spech only increases ROF but not dmg , but yeah i know more torps mean more dmg over time but still i had to fire like 3 full packs to kill a signel userper compared to 2 packs to kill a SDP.

I can still solo all ofmy lvl 4s, I have just over 7.2mil sp. I now use smartbombs and drones more than I ever used to. but I liked the new changes. My Raven hits big targets harder than it used to pre-patch.
The only thing I dont agree with was the bounty nerf. If I donemissions for the isk then the bounty nerf is the biggest reason to do the missions solo. The only reason I have recently started taking on ppl is because I am after the loyalty points, I dont even loot nearby BS cans. 8957lp for GE, AE, , with a little more training that would be 9000+. My cash will now be from agent offers I decide to sell.

You probably dont want to train skills forever but a viable lvl 4 mission runner now is a Gallente HAC Ishtar.
I can tank any Level 4 Serpentis/ Guristas mission with it. I have also managed to do the Infiltrated Outposts drone mission and also the Silence the Informant mission.
A lot of missions become easier if you know what ships you are going up against and know what damage to expect so you can put the right equipment on.
If I dont know what to expect, I usually send a shuttle into deadspace missions so I can have a look and see whats there before going in.
If you go to Eve-i, they have a object explorer which lists every ship in eve, what there resistances are and what damage they deal.

Top: 3 of Modal Light Ion Particle Blasters, 2 of Medium Nosferatu II
Middle: 4 of Cap Recharger II's, 1 of 10MN Afterburner II
Low 2 0f Armor Rep II, 1 of Armor EM Hardner II, 1 of Armor Explosive Hardner II, 1 of Armor Thermic Hardner II
In the drone bay I had 14 Ogres but possibly will change that once I find what the weakest resistances is on the Elite Drone Parisite.
With both missions, I did about turn and head towards a gate. I found that the drones followed but slowly and then some even went out of range. I stopped when I was about 70km away and then let them come to me.
Maybe I was lucky but I managed it. It took forever though and when it got hairy I was ready to warp out in a instant. Save the ship, not the drones.

Still solo'd all bar extrava/vengeance/informant so far and only have 6.6m sp. Use a Raven btw.

mister meaner, I would say the dominix was a very viable ship to do lvl4 missions in...
It has a v good tank and with it still a huge damage output... and a way to take out smaller ship, that is the drones. You just need to be carefull and aligned to warp out when/if your cap runs out or you can not hold the tank, and ofc as usually only aggro 1 group if possible :)
