I put this game down for almost 2yrs because I got bored and frustrated w lack of realism (ie - WTF makes my ship slow when i turn AB off?)
Come back, spend an hour figuring out how to disable heat alarm invoking CQ and putting clothes on my EVE barbie doll.
Enter game, ooooh, Incarna gonna be cool.
Jesus Wept.
And yeah, I'm raging. just lost a Drake on a farking lvl 3 recon mission because it got "embedded" in "large collidable" objects when I tried to warp out. Just sat there squirming around like a chick taking it in the pooper for the first time, like happens half the times at an Accell Gate - hung up on invisible things.
CCP- Can I get a Monocle for the loss of my Drake?

If a drake has to warp out of a lvl 3 mission then you're doing something very wrong, so perhaps this is just Darwinism and you should go back to whatever other MMO you feel less inadequate at.

my old alt was the missioner
getting the feel of it w this char, worked up from lvl 1 to 2 to 3, no probs
and then just got "hung" in this object, wouldnt stop, wouldnt turn and like 20 baddies.
i guess i shoulda known better, not like any frackin thing about FIS has changed in two years |

Sorry to hear about your Drake..
In any other game I'd advice you to petition, explaining the issue and ask for a reimbursement, but this is CCP.

Shift+Space to stop the warp attempt, then double click an area of space away from the object you're getting hooked up on, wait a few seconds to get clear and then try to warp again.
I recently got stuck inside a station, no idea how it happened but my ship was in space inside the stationa, trying to warp just bounced me off the walls and trying to dock just got me the message "you are out of range" wtf? i'm IN the station how can i be out of range, lol. Got it fixed in the end by logging off and logging back in, seems the log off warp can fly through colidable objects. |

i have to say the collision detection is ridiculous in eve.. you can be seen to be km from a belt and still be stuck on it.

Yes sometimes it's pretty annoying. Not only asteroids but also all the space debris in missions and complexes seem to have invisible extra pieces that you can magically stick onto. |

Is it the '50s Buck Rogers / space opera kind? Then EVE is if anything overly scientifically accurate.

*An agent gives out the same mission several times a day to 1000's of people in the same system. That's like sending 1000 SEAL teams to shoot Osama 1000 times!
*Any Tom, **** or Harry can create a corporation. There should be some sort of test to determine if you are 'fit and proper' person to start your own company.
*There is no **** hidden in the couch of my CQ.

hmm.... did you have cargo expanders on that drake or something? You can tank a drake up to a lvl 4..........
Plz rage quit already if you can't keep you're ship off a giant mining colony , station, asteriod, or whatever it was in the mission.

hello obsidian here.
Nothing has changed since 2006 when i started playing. you always get stuck on gates and you also need to watch out for those large collideable objects. They arent hard to miss. but they will kill you dead. |

I tried to run some of the epic arc missions once, I got bored after like 3 missions and wound up not playing for the next 3 weeks.

It might be suitable punishment for running missions. You can then be taunted for that too.
On a non trolling note: Yes there's still a ton of "papercuts" in eve, hopefully CCP will start a serious effort to fix them after this last waste of time expansion. I'm not holding my breath though. Go do something fun, join a nullsec, or wormhole, or pvp corp, that's where the fun is in eve. |
