In between going through various contract offers and such, I find that I have some extra time on my hands every now and then. Seeing as how these "Ask" threads are all the rage, I figured I'd do one myself.
So, if there is anything you'd like to know about being a mercenary, myself, my corp or the MC's fabulous sandwiches, feel free to post it here and I'll reply as soon as I can.
EDIT - Don't ask me for any quotes. We have a website for that. -

Actually, I do, so much so that I tend to not pay much attention to my mailbox while on contract. I typically try to go through it once every couple of weeks and clean it out. Some people just want to say "Hi, liked your last vid!" and such. Others ask about joining BDCI or the MC. Sometimes people will even send me intelligence against our current contract target.
Overall, I'd say I get mails from at least three people a day I've never heard of and a dozen I know. About once a month I will get a threat / OMGCANILICKYOURTOES mail which causes me to doubt the sanity of the sender. I try to answer people as much as possible, but sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day.
Originally by: Fred0 Also, I have some females that needs taking care of. Can I rent only Masken and Bamsefar?
Masken has problems relating to other people. He tends to just think of people as "Red" and "Not Red". It's a long process. Good luck with holding a conversation with him.
As for Bams, you've got to find him first. I think Leafo keeps him locked in a basement somewhere and only lets him out when he needs something with the CEO's signature on it. -

Umm... nope.
Well, there was this one time I was in a belt attacking a XETIC Dominix in my Deimos. I was using rails and the Domi was mining all by himself. I remember thinking that this had to be the saddest kill ever because the guy didn't even have combat drones out and his comments in local made it pretty clear he was clueless about the harsh realities of life in space.
Then I got a wrecking hit with one of my guns (\o/), forgot all that sentimental crap and swung my camera drone around behind him so I could capture the best angle of his ship exploding. -

Do you not feel that you are lowest of the low, killing people for money that may be innocent or may themselves infact be the victims of a horrible regime of terror (a little extreme but ... y'know), or is it only money that matters?
Don't take offence I'm just interested.

well it does help pass the time when we're off contract and not dealing with all those difficult problems that corporations can have.
*chuckles and makes sure to check if Seleene has authorised this months pay before making any more comments*
Personally i was a wee bit surprised that Seleene had more than 42 seconds to contact y'all here on gal-net considering the amount of work she has to go through as CEO of BDCI and general workshorse of the Mercenary Coalition.
Anyho, if ya'll excuse me, i have to refuel and rearm my ships as I have a short appointment with a Guritas patrol fleet.

Don't take offence I'm just interested.
No offense taken and, yes, it is only the money that matters. There is likely some debate in the EVE community as to if mercenaries or pirates are "lower". Of course I would say pirates, and here is why:
Any fool can hop into a Blackbird or similar ship and start blowing people up for no reason. A great number of skilled pilots sometimes decide that sitting 100km off of a gate and blasting industrial ships apart is a productive use of their time. You see, pirates do this sort of thing because it's thier version of fun.
Mercenaries don't go after people indiscriminately. Our wrath is focused on a set number of targets and we rarely deviate from those. We don't murder simply because we have the ability to murder and we don't sit around at the bar swapping stories about the convoy of refugees that we raped and pillaged.
Not all pirates are bad, though. Some pirate corps are more akin to modern day train robbers than murdering thugs. Still, at least with mercs you don't have to try to figure out what kind of people we are; we are either shooting at you or we aren't. There's no middle ground that allows us to have a bad day and just go on a murderous rampage.
Lastly, when you consider the many reasons that people use to justify killing one another, what makes earning a paycheck for it that much more evil than anyone else? One of my newest members, ex-PIE Fleet Admiral Golan Trevise can speak to this with some authority. He used to kill for religion. Now he kills for money.
Which is worse?
Originally by: Camar What are YOU looking for in a pilot?
Teamwork. We don't look for veteran pilots with years of experience. We don't look for superstars or names; we've turned down some pretty famous people. We look for personality and ambition. We look for potential ability and the desire to be the best at a chosen profession no matter what.
Originally by: Discorporation I swear, these Q&A threads are getting on my nerves.

Well, I have the time because my directors do such a fine job of taking some of the every day crap off of my shoulders. I take it you are finished with everything in your inbox, Trooper, and that's why you are here??

If you are looking for teamwork and ambition in people. Don't feel that is abit paradoxical in terms of being such a strong collective. There is hardly room for MC pilots to stand out and do the gung ho Tank CEO routine and get duly noticed for it to the same extent, or is there?
In line with that. who's MC's biggest ego guy/gal?
And how do you spank people that do stupid stuff so that they don't do it again?
Last, don't you think that these threads are thinly veiled attempts at getting recruitment/advertising posts to another forum because the recruitment forums are spammed to hell?

Hmmą it seems to me like you answered your own question. Our pilots don't tend to do much solo stuff. However while most of the EVE community may not know who some of our 'superstars' are, we do internally and that's usually good enough for our pilots.
Originally by: Fred0 In line with that. who's MC's biggest ego guy/gal?
Ego? A tie between Eyeshadow and Generatorn. It's all good natured, but they are damn good and they know it.
Originally by: Fred0 And how do you spank people that do stupid stuff so that they don't do it again?
Who told you about Drax's Vagabond?? My guns were stuck! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I can see how it might be seen that way, but in all honesty we don't really have any problems with recruitment. I just liked what Verone the Ebil Pirate was doing in his thread and figured people might be interested in learning a bit about the other side of the coin is all. -

Dear Seleene,
Say you warp in on a hostile BS force with a few support with a force of roughly even numbers/ships, your force is sitting at a short range from the enemies (say 15 - 20 km), you do not know for sure what setup any of the ships are running.
What do you call primary first?

I won't say the guy's name because...well, you'll see.
Recently I was in a shuttle going to pick up my Harpy. I forgot to use my insta for a jump and so I come out at the gate 15 km out. There is a war target Blackbird there sitting about 10km off the gate with sensor booster running. He's sitting still and I'm playing the odds a bit that maybe I can get to the gate in time but I'm ready to warp the hell out of there.
Then all of a sudden he accelerates and goes into warp!
I could only assume that he thought I was in something more powerful than a shuttle, which he confirmed by evemail a short time later. -

I'd fly an EW Indy with a 1600mm armor plate outside the station and tell the story about about you, the sheep and the warp core stab BPO in local. Then I'd lock your ass down and have 20 MC warp in and gank you.
Or... Maybe I'd just ask if you wanted a fight.

I'm not sure. No one has said anything in local yet. Typically there are flashes of light, an explosion and a lot of silence afterward. -

No though most old time Podpilots are familiar with my person my reputation has not travelled to the godless places i dwell in these days, wich is good in my current profession..... However i am sure some has said after encountering my well drilled gunnerycrews and the merciless light of Amarrian lasers. Even more so will they utter the "OH CR*P ITS GOLAN!" when they in a very short while encounter the TES Leviathan currently being build for me.
