Man reading the threads it looks like a pro-life vs. pro-choice rally.
Whaaaa I am not getting any defenseless ships to shoot at.
Whaaa I can't get access to the high end ore cause I might lose my defenseless ship.
As long as pvp is setup the way it is 0.0 will never be populated and neither side of the aisle will be happy. Now what the correct answer, aka cure, is I can't say, but something needs done if ccp wants people to use 0.0 more. I would look at how other games have made pvp work, but EVE is it's own beast and I don't want it to be like other games.
Any constructive, non-flame, suggestions on how pvp could be adjusted to make BOTH sides happy. Meaning more targets of opportunity for the pvpers and safer access ore for the carebears.
OK please constructive thoughts only. No flames. Save that for the whiners.

Thanks for the thoughts Sableye and Xach. Interesting and could help.
Empty Vee you said exactly the problem. You will under no circumstances enter low sec space because the ships/implants you've put so much effort and time into earning you are not willing to risk. While the pvper's want more targets that don't want to be targets. I am not sure how to improve things. There's got to be a happy medium just not sure what it is.

Well this thread is proving to be lively. Having read back over the various replies I am seeing two things repeated over and over. Implant loss and no npc bases in 0.0.
The npc bases should be a very easy thing for ccp add to fix this side of the problem. Maybe add some npc pirate bases that only those with seriously negitive empire standings and good standing with the pirate corp can even get close to. If there are some of these already then add more. Also add more regular npc bases for getting goods and refining and such. I know ccp wants people to travel back and forth between empire and low sec, but obviously that isn't going to happen at the level dreamed of. So toss in some npc bases and make people happy.
Implant loss is a bit stickier. I personally have about 300 mil in implants and 124 mil in my wallet. (got stupid lucky someone put a full set of +3 implants on escrow for 11 mil Had to be a typo on their part) Plus a bunch of dropped implants. So if I got podded I couldn't replace my loses. Makes me very uncomfortable going into low sec because of this. I do go there anyways, but I avoid pvp at all costs. Use instas and stay docked when known pirates are in system. Now this is 0.4 thru 0.1. Not 0.0. Where I am based 0.0 isn't convenient or at the moment interesting enough to make the effort.
But anyway, I can't think of a viable cure for the implant situation. Making pods invulnerable just isn't logical. Making T2 implants or modules unusable in empire space isn't good either. Both aren't fair to certain people. And remember what I wrote in my opening post. I am looking for ideas to make 0.0 space more attractive for both sides of the pvp fence.

OK we know the problems and we know how strongly both sides feel. So please don't post just to complain or bash different opinions. Post with an idea for helping. If you can't think of something constructive please don't post here. There are a few thousand other threads out there that you can whine or flame on. This is an attempt to find some way to make the game better for both pvpers and carebears. I don't want an idea that screws over the pvpers nor do I want one that screws the carebears. We have some brilliant players that play eve there's got to be some good ideas for balancing the game so the pvper's have more targets and the carebears have a more reasonable access to low sec.
When I heard that they were breaking down the highways and adding more jumps to low sec I hoped that all choke points would be removed. This would remove my only complaint towards pvping. Which is the gate gankers. If I am mining and you come looking for me I have a chance to run for the hills when you warp in. All be it pretty small but a chance none the less. I jump in and a gate ganking team is there I have no chance. So maybe another idea is to add alot more jump points and destroy choke points. Big alliances will still have the manpower to guard their gates, but the gankers will be hosed. And from what I have heard over and over true pvpers hate gankers as much as carebears do. So the universally hated players will be forced to adapt to a new playing style while the bulk of the population will be happier.
