[1] Can I say how sad I am that a corp we have treated as friends for so long should destroy a defensless miner in what appears to be a fit of anger, after a request that you keep to the agreement we made with you not to hunt in our HQ for the time being. You then within minutes of declaring a cease-fire attack us a second time without warning. I know it is almost the weekend, but I just hope that when you sober up, pride won't prevent you from putting things to rights. |

[5] As I understand it - Ronin is CEO of RUS (thread starter), and Trigger (CEO MASS) replied on first page of this thread. |

[9] If you read the thread you will see that Molly did not make it clear that she was refering to the second world war. She merely said that the President of the United States was aware of the attack. I was being whimsical by supposing that he might have been forwarned about the RUS attack, but had refrained from informing the Stain allience. All things considered, I feel this is unlikely to have been the case. |

[11] Sorry RUS - that is what an allience is - you attack one of us - we ALL help each other. As you probably realised yesterday - we had more corps helping than you had ships. We are are enjoying the fight very much, and hope we can still be friends with those of you who are left when the fighting is over. |

[13] It is not surprising that we get confusing and conflicting reports - believe me large scale battles are fun, but it is hard to know exactly what is going on, particularly when you are trying not to lose your first BS. I have been involved with most of this episode from the start, and have managed to fire at most of RUS (though to be honest I didn't seem to worry them that much :)). My reading of the events so far is that RUS came on the first day with about 10 ships, though the main fleet was about 5 - 6 ships. I think they thought they would come to MASS and easily take out our guards and have free rein to kill and disrupt our mining. However, you would have needed to have been there to see how well the alliance responded to our first real threat. If you think about how much time and effort corps and individuals have put into getting there ships, and the knowledge that once you attack RUS there is no going back û it would have been very easy to say you were to far away, or just remain quiet on chat. That wasnÆt the case, we had fleets coming from 40 jumps away. People brought BS they had paid for themselves, and I never heard a single complaint when ships were lost. One guy was laughing about how he had warped into the RUS fleet and lost his cruiser, even though he had been left with nothing. RUS camped our gate and it was clear they intended to fight. Our fleet warped in and all hell broke lose. At this stage I heard claims from our side of 2 RUS BSs being destroyed, and RUS seem to have confirmed this. We got a message from a member of our fleet saying æI have lost my BSÆ, and we announced the loss to the alliance. In fact he thought he was saying goodbye to us as he was down to about 5% structure, but miraculously RUS choose that moment to warp through the gate. The repair cost was quoted as something like 25 million. We pursued RUS and I saw two RUS cruisers destroyed, and one guy come out of a station to be popped for fast trip home. I also got a confirmed RUS cruiser kill from another system. We had no loses during this battle on the first day, though people may have been killed coming to us. The second day, RUS came back in force, and with the knowledge we were no push over. I still suspect they thought they could fight a mass fleet action at this stage. Well, they had the upper hand for the first part of the day (starting 9am ish UK time), but as more SA logged on the tide turned. We lost several cruisers who were scouting or coming to our aid. Due to gravity warp our communications were disrupted (well that is what was said at the court marshal :)) A BS was left exposed to RUS and was lost, a second cruiser heroically stayed to take fire knowing he was going to be toast, so our CEO in another BS could warp away. We had a confirmed kill on a RUS BS that attacked a sub fleet of ours. RUS then fought a brave but futile hit and run tactic for the next several hours. I commend RUS for bringing the fight to us. They are brave fighters, and use some very interesting tactics. We have learnt a lot from them, and gaining a lot of valuable experience in non NPC fighting, and the use of overwhelming numbers. I am not sure where it will go from here û with the best will in the world, RUS does not have the numbers to fight us in a fleet action û and I donÆt think running from station to station is a playing style that RUS will enjoy. Others may have perceived events differently, but this is an honest account. I would be most interested to see a report from RUS. I have taken a number of screenies, if I ever find them and can work out how to put them up û I will. |

[15] To be fair to Cleopatra, RUS were at a station of ours for a couple of hours with some SA members in it. She may have assumed that they were camping the station where our fleet was. However, we were next door arranging for all exits to be blocked before we made a move. When we warped into the system with 30 ships (I have found the screenies), we found that all of the RUS team had to log off for the night - so Cleo probably just missed us :). |

[17] BOSD - I do not believe that any of us consider their tactics unfair - but if you reread the first post made by Ron1n, it does not say 'we will come and make sneak atacks on you because you are to strong for us!'. It brags about how strong RUS is, and how they will come in and kill all allience members. Many are disapointed that RUS won't stand and fight even one of our fleets. Of course they can use pirate tactics - but that is not what was promised. |

[19] Morph - I suspect I have ties older than you :) Please reread the first post - I think you will agree that Ron1n didn't make it clear he intended us to die of bordom. I have said I think they are brave fighters using very good tactics. But when RUS declare they are coming to get you, you expect more than chasing them from station to station. |

[21] Good point Cleo :). We had the 30 ships from the start - but had even more ready when you tried to run, but you tricked us and logged off instead :). We still have a lot to learn - but we have a good teacher. |

[23] Original RUS STATEMENT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oficial press release: From this minute RUS Corporation breaks all diplomacy contacts with Stain alliance and all alliances which has any contacts with MASS Corporation. This step has been caused, numerous violations of the charter of alliance by MASS Corporation. The fact of actual attack of our CEO by member of MASS Corporation while he huted NPC pirates in one of the systems controlled by alliance can't be forgiven. Today head of corporation sanctioned attack on any of members of Stain allinace, anywhere in universe. If corporation is no longer member of Stain alliance it will not be attacked. Only way to stop our troops is pay to RUS Corpotration 100.000 Megacyte and 100.000 Zydrine. Until then it's a war. ---------------------------------------- RUS Corp. press secretary I do agree that RUS had planned and prepared for this war well before hand. Good tactics, and excellent organisation. However, it does show that the reason given for this war was a total lie - as we have said from the start (and I was there and saw how Ron1n attacked and killed without provication). Stain are defending themselves here - we are not the bad guys. We are really enjoying the confrontation, and there was really no reason to make a pretence of being the wronged party, or the ludicruious claims of SA ships killed. The tone of the statement also does not agree with the run and log tactics we see. Good for a pirate corp, but not for the mighty wronged RUS who demand 100k of this and 100k of that. |

[27] Before there are any complaints about Concord attacking RUS, can I make it clear they applied to join SA long before this trouble. However, we had to point out that we could not consider them until their organisation had Battle Ships. Afer a lot of hard work they managed this, and came back to us. They have started well, but they are on a trial basis, and if we hear any more reports of them attacking innocent playes we will throw them out. |
