When I play EVE, I am always in the captains chair, and I love my crew so much I am willing to put in extra escape pods and weaken the structural integrity of ships if necessary. My crew get excellent training, and survive better than average, because when **** breaks and I need it fixed "NAO!" I don't like to wait!
Seriously, I love the debate, but its a little overly serious. Probably from the Star Trek influence on my young life, but my main seriously captains most fights from the chair and uses a mind link to control things remote through the pod. There's an automated system built in that allows me to 'phase' with the ship if needed while I slide into the goo fully clothed if I have to and the pod seals. Of course its not cannon, its just how I see things and play the game in my head. So, technically, in character, alpha fleets are bad for me. |

As stated in one of the books, non-capsuleer pilots are engulfed in a protective pod. I can't remember if it has goo also, but it's supposed to protect them. |

Agreed. Though I always liked the Idea of being in a pod somewhere and projecting my image on the "bridge" as a holo. |

Well... I want to you to be aware... what I worry is that whatever wasteful wonders our whispered wizard did wield will wind up whittling away at the wistful wishes which weave within and through our wonderful world. |
