Recently more and more Pod Pilots claim to have no recollection of hours of their time in space. Typical stories go like ôI was jumping from one system to another when all I saw was blackness [or only stars, red.]ö, or ôWhen I undocked from the station, something went wrong I think, I donÆt know what happenedàö Later the pilot finds himself close to where he was supposed to be without memory what happened during this time. The question remains: what goes on during this time?
Visions? Though most pilots tell that they have absolutely no recollection of what happened during this state, other statements are more extreme.
Some tell us to have had experiences of a life outside the Eve Galaxy where there are no star ships and life is made up of menial household tours or tasks that - according to the Amarr - are only fitting for a Minmatar-slave.
One pod pilot explained to us that he saw a musician in a wide white suit, wearing a golden necklace, sideburns and sunglasses. He kept saying ôI saw Elvis! I saw Elvis!ö though none of the research for this article found out anything about an æElvisÆ in the books of Eve history or EMDB (Eve Music Database).
Others claim to have been abducted by an alien race for æbodily experimentsÆ. They described to us humanoid figures of greyish skin, elongated heads with big black pupilless eyes. After the experiments they were put back at their place in the Eve Galaxy. Weird looking humanoids can only mean one thing in this Universe: Joves. The Jovians refrained to make a statement on this matter when approached by The Scoop.
There have even been reports of ships of an unknown black material de-cloaking prior to these black outs. Those ships bear no markings of what State they belong to, nor do they show up on the scanner. Once the pod pilot comes to his senses again, these ships are nowhere to be seen.
What donÆt they want us to know? Fact remains that between the time the pod pilot entered this state and came back, time did pass. There are pilots who claim they actually lost time as they suffered a lack or skill training. It seems that some of these black outs have a physical as well as a mental effect!
Naturally physics tell us that one cannot not have been in existence during this period. If you were somewhere at point A in time and then at point C in time. Logically you were there as well at point B. While some pilots will maintain that they actually experienced the ævisionsÆ described above, a total blacked out memory (or dare I say altered memory?) is the norm. And this looks a whole lot like an attempt to make sure the pilot does not remember what actually happened in the system they were in.
Whereas some time back it were only a few individual pilots that suffered from this loss of memory, lately whole systems and all residents within have been æblacked outÆ. With system-spanning warnings to NOT enter those systems or suffer the consequences. Someone definitely puts in the effort to make sure we stay away from these systems until whatever goes on in there has passed. Looking back in Eve history tells us that these cycles have happened before!
So, the question remains: what does go on in these æafflictedÆ systems to warrant such extreme measures as a memory wipe for the time spend in that system at that specific time. It can only be something big that æthe powers that beÆ do not want us to know.
And suddenly matt-black Cover(t) Op ships start to make a whole lot more sense. Is it something that all States are afraid of and joined up for to make sure no one knows what goes on? Or is it a greater power on the move, wiping out memories left and right to make sure the residents of the Eve Galaxy remain ignorant of the bigger picture.
The Scoop will be sure to have some extra, hidden, cameraÆs running for when our time comes to be æblacked outÆ.

Seeing first the GUARDIAN and now the SCOPE decend into the more profitable business of 'yellow journalism' has been quite a tragic sight.
Where will we get true honest-to-goodness news? It is a sad time when ISD NEWS holds the corner of that market.
Not your average Amarrian Loyalist....

There isn't anything going on of interest to bother writing an article for the Guardian about. The odd yellow journalistic article is simply an expression of this boredom.
News reporting and the readers do not exist in isolation of each other. Perhaps Chai N'Dorr, of The Scoop - Bringing You the Real News, has a better formula for reporting by inviting comments from the capsular community.
I wish him the very best for his continued success. Yours,

This reminds me of chat I had in the local band while checking the rocks in a belt in hatakani. Another miner told me all his crazy theories about how the targetting systems on his missiles weren't working like they used to and how it was some kind of conspiracy to protect famous pirates and their friends from more inexperienced pilots who, with the proper training, could cut down these pirate ships with a volley or two of torps. Now I don't know a lot about missiles being a simple Intaki miner but this guy sounded like a drop addict if you ask me.

I disagree, there's always something going on somewhere that has an inpact on someone. It's just The Scoop's task to write it up so that it is worthy to being reported. And I'd say recent items have had a distinct impact on the pod society.

Thank you, we have several more newsworthy articles - like the previous one - planned. Just because certain bigger news corporation do not deem it necessary to report what's going on in the Galaxy, doesn't mean it's not happening.
And most often right under our noses.
