In my opinion, the biggest problem with this game is the lack of information on the game mechanics.
It changes so fast that it would be hard for ccp to keep up with it.
Is this something the players could do instead?
There are enough fans of the game out there that would be willing to help I think, if it was co-ordinated.
So I guess what I'm asking are these three questions;
1) Is it a good idea? 2) Is there anybody out there willing to get involved and maybe write a chapter? 3) If anybody from ccp reads this, what are your thoughts? Do you think it's a good idea, would you be willing to proof read it afterwards and help with major problems and would you be willing to make it available through your website (although if the last is an issue we could find somewhere else I'm sure.)
This would only be a guide rather than a definitive manual, due to the nature of the game.
Anyway, let me know what you think...

I think the information in the manual would need to be constantly updated therefore it would have to be electronic. Also it will take a heck of a lot of work to keep it up to date. I think CCP should be doing this rather than fans having to do it off their own back. The manual that came with the game is pathetic. The only real way to find out what to do is to ask other players in the game and read these posts on the BB. :(
BTW there are some very good guides availible already over at EVE-I: http://www.eve-i.com/article_list.php

Yeah, too much flux.
I'm lukewarm on the game so far, though it certainly has potential, a sort of Galactic Trader with graphics. The interface is really weak, but that might improve as the developers finish the game.
Here's a good rule of thumb for developers: If you can't release a manual and be sure that it will still be 99% up-to-date three months in the future, then the game is not ready for release.
