Retribution with:
1800 armor, and 66, 82, 65, 60 resists....better than a base zealot.

Wow nice defense, too bad it still only has one suck ass midslot. What guns can you fit on that? Not medium beams, i'm guessing... ________________________________________________________

neither can the interceptor either though.
it's really just 6 or 1/2 dozen the other. to counter plat intys, plate assaults will do swimmingly as they have much higher base resistances.
retribution is a bad example imho though - as it's not really a solo pvp rig. but at least that retribution wouldn't fall to any inty that weirda can imagine... -- Thread Killer

lol retribution a scarecrow. i solo in mine and i do well in it well until recently. Ceptors once there in range last about 5-15 seconds depending on ceptor and set-up. Med pulse track very well for me duno about anyone else.
There dangerous ships high damage highly tankable, med slots are overrated. --------------------------------------------------------

Well, I've been flyin this ship all day in pvp. Here are my thoughts:
1 midslot is no problem if you are in a mixed fleet
This thing is incredable as bait if you are in a wolf pack. Nobody is expecting this when they call u primary target.
It tankes very good.
Damage output is actually VERY good still. I made it on the top of 2 kill mails today on cruisers (where more than 1 volly was shot). All the frigs/ceptors we killed I wasn't on the top, but I was there.
It tankes like a sonofa*****.
It is quite a bit slower than normal, but you're in an assult frig with no scramblers.....so speed is of no use anyhow (except orbiting a larger target so he hit's you less).
It tankes like a Muther-fauker.
Oh, and it tanks well too.

It works very nicely with a Wolf, just set it up like a plate Claw. Bear in mind that you'll have to watch out for long-range inties, as they will cause you major problems. ----------------------------------------

Ok....just got into some more action with this ship.... I was able to tank an Eagle for a LONG time, keeping him busy until a covert could get on top of him for a warpin for the rest of the fleet. Since the eagle is using hybrids it was hitting my 2 weakest resists, and I was still having "little" problems. Once we got to a mid range enguagement (where he could still track me but using high damage ammo) I had to warp, but long range (where his ammo was weaker) or close range (where he had trouble tracking me) I was having no problems. Remember, this was the PERFECT ship to blow mine up, as it was hitting my weakest points and is a major damage dealing ship. At NO TIME was I ever in danager of loosing this ship.

If you are setting up your AF like this MAKE SURE of 1 thing: You can hit out to 20km. As long as you can hit out to 20km fairly hard, interceptors/frigs can't scramble you. You can disreguard this if you have buddies.

as if this couldn't be better, I found you can put an active thermal hardener on and have the following resists: 66, 83, 69, 69 with 1850 armor with a 400mm rolled tungston instead of the titanium I was using.
With hull upgrades 5 armor HP will go up even more (and allow the use of a TII adaptive nano). With the TII nano resists will be: 68, 84, 70, 70. This though will only fit with weapon upgrades 5. So 2 more lev 5 skills for me to train (good thing weapons upgrades was the next on the list anyhow). It looks as if 2000hp would be possible with a TII 400mm and hull upgrades 5.

I reckon CCP might nerf the oversized plates before you see the end of training of lvl.5 for these two skills, though... given how 2k of armour with 70+ resistances across the board on what's still a frigate is starting to look quite silly -.o

There isnt a point to fit t2 plates, they give like 2 extra HP for much harder fitting.

Now all we miss is the structure enhancers for the Gallente, so they can structure tank \o/

I can think of about zero setups that I can fit a t2 plate on where I normally fit a rolled tungsten/nano.

I just checked all other assult frigs, this is the only one you can do this with (this much HP and this much resist) because of the ammount of low slots you have. I think we have finally found a reason to use this ship in pvp. It's worth it to loose a mid slot for a tank like this.

Edited by: MrRookie on 29/07/2005 07:24:50 The amount of HP and resistance isnt silly at all, the current gankfest is more silly. They should boost the plates even more imo Edit: Besides you can only fitt potato guns with such a setup _____________________________________________
