Found a workaround!
In Finder, click on the "Go" menu in the menubar, and select "Go to Folder". Then type (or paste) in:
~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility
When that folder opens, you should see a file called "evepremiumpatch485832-mac.tgz". Double-clicking it should extract a file called "evepremiumpatch485832-mac". Double-click this file and it should start the patching process.
There's probably an easier way, but this worked for me. |

Same here. Restarting EVE manually shows again the "updtae successfull" dialog and clicking OK closes the client. Deadloop!

I am having the exact same problem with "client will now close and the update process...". I can't play.
Here is my situation, the regular EVE Online icon has never worked for me. Whenever I click it I get "EVE Online.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash." (Same message whenever I try to run the repair tool) The only way I can play is if I right click and Show Package contents and click on the EVE Online app in the Resources folder.
So now with this update I am stuck. I tried to manually extract the patch as another user posted above but it does not allow me to apply the patch to EVE Online because it is "damaged and should be moved to the trash".
Ugh. So what is a way around this for people who can't run the normal launcher? |

I can't use this technique because I have to use the launcher in the resources folder. Any way to get it to apply to that one? |

I know that multiple clients running on one machine is not officially supported, but... I run 3 clients, all via clones made with the clone maker. The first runs fine. #2 and #3 run at 2 fps. (#2 and #3 are the second and third ones I log in, not which clones they happen to be). This is with all of them in space and all with the same graphics settings (everything low or off, except shader and textures are both set to medium.

Several of us are still having a severe client lockup issue when opening the Map, dating back to Retribution 1.0. Seems to be related to OpenGL on Nvidia graphics chips. Does not seem to matter what graphics settings are used. |

I have had an issue since 1.0, however I still have this issue in 1.1. It causes a client lock up and causes the entire computer to crash, I have to turn my computer off then back on.
The first post on that thread i linked shows the problem I am encountering.
It is causing problems not just for me but other people. |

Any news? I haven't been able to play at all since the patch. I'm about to be forced to just cancel my account.
Do they not ever update the full game download to the latest client? That would solve my patching problems.
The main EVE client still always tells me that it is damaged and should be moved to the trash. Since I can only launch the game with the EVE client in the resources folder, that does not allow me to patch. The game tells me that the patch was downloaded and will need to be restarted over and over. There is no way that I can play. |

I had the same problem. I looked for the eve file in the programms folder and started the client from there and suddenly it worked |

If your launcher is not working, trash it and download a new copy. Remember to trash the eve online folder in the Application Support folder. Stuff can get messed up in there that stops the launcher from working, even a newly downloaded copy.
(Whats happening is a new copy of eve will create the folder in Application Support if it does not exist, but will use the old one if it does exist. The result is if that is what is corrupt, even a new download will not solve the issue. You got to trash that folder.) http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

Still doesn't work. I deleted EVE and the Application Support folder and re-installed. When I try to launch the game I get the same old "EVE Online.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."
And as usual, I can then launch the game through the resources folder but then I get stuck not being able to update. I also still can't manually apply the patch due to the main eve online.app being damaged.
Any other ideas or is it just impossible for me to play on my mac? |

Also I have never had a clean install fail. There may be something wrong with your hardware, or a corrupted file in the OS. Maybe you need to get it looked at. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

When I try to run the repair tool I get a similar "EVE Online Repair.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash."
Very strange. I had EVE running on this same Mac a few months ago just fine. I uninstalled when I couldn't play. Now when I finally decided to start playing, the new install would only run through the sources folder. Of course now I have the patch problem. There must have been some other sort of remaining corrupt file that I need to wipe clean somewhere.
All other apps, games, programs run perfectly fine on this Mac. |
