I guess you can add another nut to that bunch. I just finished training them all last night.

Hi gang, sorry to have disappeared for awhile. I've been travelling for the the last week and away from the computer (and let me tell you...a 2,000 mile trip by car is like a 64 jump flight without instas ).
Tarhos, first let me say welcome to the game. You may have already decided what to do based on the good input of others, but I'll throw out a couple of thoughts anyway. Like most of us, you've jumped into the game forming your first character with attributes shaped by your initial impressions of what might be valuable in developing the character. Now with some experience, you find that your attributes are not the best for what you'd like to focus on in the game. In fact, you have a character that is very nicely suited to a career in trade and industry, and perhaps corporate management. This may not be what you want to do, but it is still a great character.
Consider this. Start a second 3 month subscription to EVE. Form a new character with attributes that are more ideally suited to gunnery and spaceship command. Begin training the new character while continuing to train and play the game with your current character. Think about training the current character in industry and trade skills...his strengths. Within six or eight weeks, the new character will start to take shape in his career. By that time, you'll probably be playing the new character more than the original one. You could then keep both of them....alot of people have a couple of accounts, one with a fighter and one with an industrial character...or you could auction off the original account for ISK (see the "items for sale" forum) and cut back to one account subscription after transferring the character. This might get you enough ISK to buy some good implants for the new character .
And Safronique, thanks for the kind comments. To know that I have helped others in the game is a pleasure .

and then second... I was starting to think that advanced learning lvl5 was a standard... or is it just me and my corp mates that are so crazy... ?
But glad to see that I am not like the rest of the herd... mwuahaha :)
lub to all and good going in all your affairs, -pud

Nice. You've trained science and cybernetics to plug in some implants?

Nope, this is my first and only character. Like I said, no sanity. :)

Yep, that was one of the first things I did. Had a full set of limited implants as soon as I could afford them.
I also traned up Caldari Industrials so I could do some tradeing in the mean time. You can actually make some good isk hauling, for a beginning character anyway, with just a little time invested.

Congrats on that milestone Doc, and damn you have a fine attitude, if we had more people like you playing EVE there sure wouldn't be so much griefing.
Oh and Streich: that's a sweet character! ________________________ Bah, my sig is 2Kb too large! |

hint@caymus = don't put the first name of your "secret" character as the name of the image of him
i am guessing it is this one of the 3 rulons as he is in ur corp
nice going tho
edit: are the huge amounts of skills in trade on one of your characters worth it?

Nice detective work Hippo, mystery solved. You are correct...Rulon Mudhunter is the mining character I created last September when CCP was running the second account promotion offering six months for the price of three.
The level 5 skills earned by the trading character are quite useful. He trades region-wide, tends to modify his orders often to meet the competition, and places huge mineral purchase orders. Visibility, procurement, day trading and margin skills are all critical. Accounting and broker relations reduce costs nicely. In six days he'll have tycoon to level 5 enabling over 300 open orders. Oh, and I set this guy up to have the black market skill, too...maybe he'll smuggle me some of those learning boosters

How come you have all the science skills at 5, and yet you only have Research Project Management at 3? Surely with all the other skills at 5, you'd want RPM at 5 so you could run 6 research agents, otherwise I don't see the point of training the science skills above 4 atm, because 4 is the max you need any of them at to be able to build/research/copy T2 stuff.

Drahcir
Because 6 x zero == 4 x zero.
And RPM is a mem/cha skill, so I just didn't feel like wasting the time
Frankly, and let this be a warning to anyone actually contemplating a science career, there isn't much fun or sense of accomplishment in it. For most of the time when I was actively playing, I was doing two things: managing research slots and BPs and running missions. That got old about a year ago.
So, I decided to set a goal to get all the sci skills to 5 while I waited to see if it would get any better. It hasn't yet....

No, the decimals count. Those are the actual values used in the formulas. The integers displayed are the ones that don't count.
