The dissapearence of this feature has forced movie makers to start using the pan and zoom features rather than lazily using 'look at' all the time. I would argue that this has directly lead to an increase in the quality of the camerawork in many movies.

What will differentiate(sp) the work of a pro is the usage
of OTHER methods to get that money shot and not always relying
on that feature.

Signed. I never get money shots on my FRAPS footage any more because I don't have time to align a perfect camera shot during a real fight. Its annoying as hell.
Real alignment is preferred, but impossible to get during a real fight.
