Originally by: infused Titans and T2 Battleships will be introduced and there you have it, a full fleet.
With Titans being able to carry fleets (maybe dreds?) this will make PVP so much more intresting...
But my question is, is anyone actually going to risk losing Titans and Dreads?
I can't see it happening tbh, if you follow eves history, no one likes losing alot of isk this way. Just take the fraction ships for example. Very few fly these in low sec.
So will this actually have an impact on PVP? I think it's hard to say, but I can't see these being used alot.
The only thing I can see useful will be the introduction of the T2 battleship.
Is risk becoming too much now?
Dude, we're just started with NWO, it will be a while until Kali. Anyhow, I think at this point it is way too early to tell because we haven't really seen the behaviour of dreadnaughts and freighters in space yet. CCP didn't either. ;)
There will undoubtedly be people that take risks or get blown up in their dreadnaughts, titans, t2 battleships or whatever. It's a question of when, not if, some guy in a dreadnaught or titan gets blown up by a 100 pilot BS blob.
Coming up next: can bees think? A new study indicates that no, they cannot. |

The idea of Titans, Dreads, Battleships and a mixed fleet on the field is indeed something to look forward to. BUT....as someone who was involved in Saturday nights Northern Lagfest, who is going to involve a multi billion isk ship in a huge fleet battle?? I can forsee the scenario now....you jump into the battle in a dread/titan (first target maybe!!), lagarama ensues and the next time your screen updates you are back at your clone station in a noob ship. The game servers hardly encourage big fleet action even though the technology being introduced is pushing elements of the game more in that direction....

dreads are expsnive but people will risk them, all you have todo is browse kill boards for a bit and see there's a few fighters out there who like to equip there ships with mods which in total are worth way more than a dread.

And more to the point, titans will not be uber combat ships, so their effect on the battlefield will be limited.

So how long had KIATolon owned his CNR before taking it our last night, because he uh, doesn't own it anymore.

EvE doesn't use a communistic system, but a capitalistic system. It's supposed to be the goal of everyone to be a part of the 30% richests players ingame, and not to divide the riches between everyone.
You should realise someday you'll have to work to get somewhere in this game, be it rich, famous, feared or hated, you will have to put some effort in it.
As for using Dreads/Titans or whatever ship class, you only need 2 things really to use them in combat, one of them is isk, you can figure the other one out for yourselfs. ------------------------------------------ Member of the [23] Follower of the Blood Revolution. Sani Sabik. |

Anyone else scared about the lag-potential of carriers? ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |

I don't think you will see the "big boys" using these as much. Why risk a dred when it takes 1.5b isk and a month of time to build?
Id rather spend all that on a fleet of battleships, which can probably kill a dread anyways.
I see dreads being used for base assault. Its firepower mainly concentrated on POS structures from a distance. It would probably jump in AFTER most of the enemy has been surpressed.
And if it started to take damage, i would hope the fleet had remote armor repairers in play. Im sure precautions will be taken, but i dont see dreads being used as your every day Battleship (or a bigger version of it).

I hope so. I like the idea that a carrier could sit somewhere and send out its fighters to attack targets far away.

I dont think Remote armor repairers will work in Siege mode.

but this here isnt an RTS, the number of pilots is limited and thats why i predict that DN's will be in short time a commin sight in fights between big alliances.

Titans? Carriers? Meh.
Hmm...I'd rather see more Tech 1 Battleships, they are after all the real work-horse of the fleets. We have a current grand total of 6, one of which is EW. More (and better) Battlecruisers would be nice too. More ship variety for the average player rather than just toys for the top 10% would be nice.
Not all of us have billions of isk, and extra variety among ships around the 50 - 200 million isk price would be nice. An extra battleship and battlecruiser for each factions would go down pretty well I think.

Superior numbers will almost always beat a bigger better ship especially in games due simply to "tank rush" or "zerg" tactics. It isn't clever or sophisticated but it works
