Reading an article about wormholes I came across an app supposedly called WHAPP, which supposedly allows one to see where their corp mates are.
Maybe it's used and developed exclusively by one corp, but maybe it's public.
Any of you know this app? omniscient omnipotent omnipresent without judgement |

I thin you are refering to http://themittani.com/news/honor-among-thieves-adhc-thief-nets-15-billion . So it looks like it is the name of the adhocracy's wormhole mapping tool. So bether ask there... . But since it is their homemade wormhole mapping tool, i don't think you have a chance in getting it... . But look around on the forum i think there are a few you can buy access 2 and one who was open source . Maybe we should as a wormhole community mke a simple one for free for everyone so that we can get more people in w-space? |

There is no wormhole mapping system called WHAPP. it does not exist.
Adhocracy Incorporated maps wormholes by drawing a pictures on notepads, photo copying the note pads and overnight mailing them to other members. |

Confirming this. We have a special budget just for stamps, and a "Stamps 4 plex" program. |

WHY WASN'T I TOLD ABOUT THE WH MAPS BY MAIL SYSTEM!!1!!11 I've been creating my own trail of breadcrumbs by putting sliced bread in my cd-rom drive - and now I find out there's a better way of doing it, all for the cost of a stamp.
At least now my 'special interest dvds' won't be as yeasty as they were. Well, not all of them, anyway. |

The eve mail system is old but tried and true. An explanation below is bascially what we find works best for us:
1. Everything starts with the main wormhole, which we call Main. 2. From there any wormhole going to another wormhole is called a letter, starting with "A". We haven't scanned enough to get to "Z" yet in one chain, but it's my personal goal. 3. Any wormhole we find off a letter labeled wormhole is labeled first by the letter it is connected to followed by a number. For example "A.1". 4. Any wormhole that leads to another wormhole after the number listed is the next following number, unless there are multiple wormholes connected to that number, then it switches back to letters. For example "A.1.2" or "A.1.A". From there you can see the pattern that is followed. 5. Any wormholes that connect to High, Low, or Null Sec are just called the system they connect to. So works like "A.1.A.1.Jita"
After we have completely scanned out every wormhole that is connected to Main, one of the scouts, creates an Eve Mail we refer to as the Map. It will list out the connection chain following the guidelines I listed above, as well as helpful information like POS locations and piloted ships at the time of scouting for each wormhole. I know other wormholes corps do things differently, but this is what we've done from day one and it hasn't failed us yet. |

For any other corps thinking of imitating the ADHC system of mapping, there is one particular detail in its implementation that you should decide upon earlier, rather than later... that is, whether to use a Square-Grid notepad or a Hexagon-Grid notepad for mapping.
This seems like a trivial detail, but it has lead to a schism within ADHC between the corp members who began their gaming with Dungeons & Dragons (and Square-Grid mapping) and those who began with Avalon Hill style wargaming (and Hex-Grid mapping) - and bewilderment from the younger members who cannot even imagine what pen-and-paper gaming was like.
While this hasn't lead to any outright blue-on-blue violence beyond the forum threadnaughts we have about this issue, there have been times when, for example, logistical pilots have been "just a little slow" to rep those on the other side of the debate. It's just something to keep in mind if you decide to make the switch to the ADHC system.
For what it's worth, my opinion is that the Hexagonists can go die in a fire. SquareGrid4Lyfe!!!! |

The sad thing is that M Thomas accurately described out system pre corp bookmarks.
