It would be fairly boring i'd think that given people did fight and die, that the majority of pvp would be done in t1 frigates and maybe cruisers, higher class ships like BS and caps would never be seen and would be pretty pointless. The game would lose interest as you can never get into anything t2 without taking months of pvp breaks sitting in station, and that's not any fun.... |

This. Even if the skill system - which simply wouldn't work in a permadeath game - was revised, the game would degenerate into Internet Spaceships: FPS Edition.
That might prove to be a fun game, but it ain't EVE. |

Diablo had a system much like EVE - when you die, all your stuff drops on the ground and whoever killed you can immediately take it. You can then resurrect in town and try to get it back with a naked character that still has all the spells and attributes you had before. This used to be normal in games, but apparently there were too many people who couldn't handle it. -á"The Mittani: Hated By Badposters i'm strangely comfortable with it" -Mittens |

I was always worried if you die in an alpha clone you lose everything down to 900k sp. That's not the case but it'd be interesting to see. |

Considering that would pretty much spell the end for suicide ganking, I think it would actually make the game safer for a lot of people.

Perma death could only be used in a game like an FPS [such as DayZ] where anyone can pick up a gun and shoot but it takes skill to learn how to do these things] or maybe like Skyrim where there is a level cap, say level 100 and if you die you can level up again via a new path [choose to maximise archery instead of two handed this time per se].
However it would never work for eve with its continous training, no level cap and millions of skillpoints. |
