Kaire Koschuken wrote:You should also consider that the New Order requests a piddling 28k ISK per day for the privilege of bump-free mining. All the Order seeks to do is improve gameplay for everyone, miners included. While this may include encouraging you to find something better to do than mining, you should not feel threatened, but instead should be moved emotionally - another player, certainly your superior in capsuleer society, considering your station as a miner, has seen fit to ask you to join him in the upper echelons of society. Laud these efforts, and find glory in higher callings.
How does paying james and his crew improve gameplay for anyone but them collecting isk from folk daft enough to pay them?

The resources to maintain the movement aren't free, and those fees help slightly defray the cost of bringing you New and Engaging Content for your enjoyment.
I've been thinking of opening a rehab program for newly liberated bot aspirants. Did you know, for just 28k ISK a day, you can help free a poor soul from the ravaging clutches of bot aspirancy? For less than the cost of a stack of faction ammo, we of the New Order can rescue, rehabilitate, and reintroduce formerly bot-aspirant miners into the wonderful world of New Eden. This paltry sum covers agent transportation, defense, lodging, and our ongoing safety campaign, ensuring unattended mining vessels do not stray into dangerous areas of asteroid and icefields.
Please, think of the miners. If you won't, who will? 315 4 CSM8! |

If you lose a few ships below you can blow up mine, reduces the chance you'll successfully blow it up in the first place, especially if you're flying ships with no real tank, they'll go down quick :p Destroyers aren't known for being tough ships. Looks like he had a good track record going too, just made a mistake. spionkop's sole claim to fame was managing to get on several CONCORD killmails. He never managed to prevent a gank.
As for you preventing a gank by shooting gankers, what's your reaction time? Meaning, how long does it take you to notice the Catalysts shooting you, and to start locking the first one? If you're alert, I'd guess a second and a half at minimum. Generally it would be more like three seconds as a low estimate, because hardly anyone stays 100% alert for the hours and hours that they spend mining. Then you've got to lock your first Catalyst, which, depending on your ship, could take a second or two.
By that time, we aim to have your mining ship at about half EHP. If you've got high alpha, you might have nearly destroyed one of the Catalysts. Are you efficient enough to be able to lock and destroy the other five or six Catalysts before your mining ship is dead and CONCORD reaches us?
If so, then you're the kind of player that we're trying to encourage, so we have no interest in ganking you. You have become the pubbie, Mittani. Yours is the temple whose technetium-clad tables are at risk of being overthrown, whose seats need mixing. You're the one who fears war. -- Sadleric

This is the part I don't get. How does making life worse for the afk and semi-afk miners somehow make things better for the high sec miners? I've never gotten that leap in logic. Its probably not making them gain minerals any faster in most cases or anything like that. |

I know it aint the same guy/girl every time, but its the same spam each time. I'd say you are another James alt trying to get attention, but this thread lacks the obligatory wall of text that usually ensuses. PRO-TIP: There are plenty of other systems with belts and ice in hi-sec that don't have miner bumpers. Its doesn't take that much effor to move. Its as if people are asking for the abuse. James 315 is far more eloquent than this. The guy can't post without it being a dissertation worthy of an Ivy League University. True, if Ivy Leage dissertations were full of gaps in logic, false assumptions, non sequiturs, and other pernicious nonsense. If you help someone when they're in trouble, they will remember you when they're in trouble again.

The spamming is legal, however if they are bumping to avoid you from warping off, then that should be considered griefing. Which is against the rules. Unless ofc they changed that rule.
We stop bumping them when they pay for their permits and obey the Code.

By increasing the profits for miners that actively play EvE, and remain at the keyboard. Less bots and bot-aspirants mining = higher mineral prices, and more ISK for the remainder.
Talk to Jen Loo about his EvE-Uni mining fleets. If he thinks you are AFK in one of his fleets, he will have an Eve-Uni corpmate sic his drones on your barge, to see if you stop watching pron long enough to avoid asploding. Join the New Order, buy your permit today, and follow the code.
