As suspected and as accuratly pointed out by many of you, this endevour is proving to be quite a challenge - but not impossible. Given the time I have left to organise the completion of EON#1, I'm going to sit on the idea a while and revisit it at a later date. I'm not giving up, yet.

Considering the publishing frequency of 1 per quarter, E-ON might be the wrong media to present Alliance related news. The best way to publish this type of information is via website.
One option is to utilize the "Players News Center" for alliance news. This would allow greater accessibility to the player base and hopefully cause more frequent updates to the website (20 days between news updates is a long time).
For E-ON, instead of "We established a POS at XXXX" or "We have 4 freighters in operation and 3 dreads about to launch" you may want to go the short story route...similar to the Eve Chronicles. Stories that dramatizes and fleshes out the player-made history in EVE. For example, it should be stories about the collapse of Xetic and the rise of [5], stories of M0o's ramage through empire space, stories of FIX's "David vs Goliath" struggle, and so on.
I really like the fact that you want to include Alliance news in E-ON. Perhaps after you get issue #1 off your plate you'll get time to futher refine the idea of alliance news.

I fully expect they'll flesh the short-liners out with some fluffy text that'll be pleasing to the eye. Also, releasing the first article in E-ON will be a good starter for a website article line, if they intend to have this as a sort of permanent feature. --
Don't post nerf-threds, especially not as a joke. It's not funny, and you come across as a complete idiot. |

TBH alliance news changes so frequently that this would be hard to work into a quarterly edition. If it were a weekly edition maybe, but the rate at which things change in EVE, it would quickly be outdated.

This is a good point... maybe the original idea could be changed slightly, that is... the alliances could submit some sort of recap of what happened to them since previous edition of the magazine... or in case of the first edition, in the last 3 months or so? Then it would be nice material for EVE history freaks like originally intended... o.O;

for the first edition maybe an explanation of the origins of the alliance is better than 3 months old report ;p

I think the news from E-ON are too old in october. You should reconsider a new-news section.

If you ask me, i beleive its too soon to "write history" for EVE after the Cold War Patch. I would suggest gathering historical info up until the latest patch. There someone can gather true facts ond not current speculations.

I thought so too once. Once I sat down and wrote everything down and published it, I got a lot of heat from contesting sides because they saw events differently. It does not matter when you gather the information, people always have there own point of view anyway.
Good luck Zapatero.
