I can't for the life of me think why the option to scoop all drones in range was replaced with scoop drones in range ONLY IF THEY ARE ALL IN RANGE.
This clearly sux, as mixed drones, damaged drones or trying to scoop drones on the move (just cruising not MWD/AB) does not work, and can be very irritating if your in any kind of a hurry.
Why was this changed? were drones not difficult enough to use already, i pity those who use drones as a primary weapon....

A very good question, and a problem issue that really needs to be resolved.
Also, the scoop range is far too short.

The drone interface got improved in exodus, but the "scoop all in range" option was borked.... Should be fixed asap, it's especially annoying when you need to warp out FAST and two drones are stuck on each other poddling along at 50m/s.

Yeah, I remember when you could issue a "scoop drones" at any point, at which point they would return to you and get auto-scooped as soon as they are in range. For some insane reason, that was removed at some point. And yes, it does totally suck fo us people using drones as primary weapon systems
1) We need the old "return and scoop" drone command back.
2) The drone scoop range needs to be expanded, it's currently *way* too small. Some t2 light drones orbit so fast that they are usually outside scoop range even if your ship is standing still. This is a bug.

Yes, this needs fixed, especially when some drones get so stuck on each other you HAVE to scoop some of them just to be able to get the rest into drone range.

This is very annoying and as i am becoming a drone user even more per day (ishtar) i would love this problem to be fixed.
Recently i was in a war using my ishtar to do some guerilla (sp?) warfare and i had no other ship to do it apart from my nossing ishtar, i must have left behind 25-30 drones because i could scoop the ones that actually got in range.
Also i nearly lost my ishtar while helping some1 in a mission recently while the damn rats had explosive damage tearing apart my tank, luckily i had just killed enough before i had to bug out to keep my armor tank steady at around 25%.

Its because one of the dev's alts got a tech 2 drone BPO.

Should be able to hit scoop - then all drones return at best possible speed (this meas that do dont stop for a shag with each other on the way) and just get back into the damn dronebay !!

Not only agree with the original idea, and the return and scoop idea, but how about something to just make them STOP. And something to
"friendly disable" so that someone else can pick up your drone without you having to warp out or something.

yes please remake return and scoop. 
also... it seem like most of the time the little bastards are just sitting 200-300m outside of scoop range... and extra 500m would help enormously, though doubling it wouldn't hurt!

Signed, just like every other thread about this I've read.
I hope CCP are going to change it soon. I think they're planning extra drone types some time soon, maybe they'll try and rework the AI and interface then.
