Ok, so I decided to train the "Criminal Connections" skill so that I could get my corp standings up, this way the guys refining loot might get a better refines. Well come to find out that after I had the skill trained to 3 my NPC spawns went to crap. I have had 2 officer spawns so far in my EVE career and a bunch of Dominations, well, train the skill and no more Uber spawns. Please find a way for me to untrain this damn skill or put a different one in the game to counter it. My Char. has over 25 mil SP's and I don't want to use an inferior char to NPC with..... some help here plz training skils are supposed to make char better not mess him up correct?

Lol; The skill does not affect your spawns, it simply affects your standings towards pirate npc corps. Officer spawns are based or pure luck, i have only seen one in my life so far

Ummm and you are a DEV? How are you so certain that it's pure luck? I know for a fact that spawns are based on your standings, my case the arch-angels the worst your standings the better the spawns. From what I was told (from a personal friend of a DEV) thats its almost the reverse of agent missions, in the case of spawns the worst the standing the better the spawn, I can attest to this because after I trained the skill the I noticed the decrease in Uber spawns. Please do not comment on things

I'm in the same position... damn connections 4 giving me a hard time. Perhaps add a 'Trash it...' feature for skills?

Wow, realy, would that explain why last night i was ratting away and i found a dual warlord spawn, this is cause of my standings?

Do you know how to tell if some one is not the Special Forces?... If they tell you they are. Same rule applys, besides a 'DEV = Developer' Im sure the guy who does the forums knows everything about POS', he is after all a DEV.
Joshua is well known and accepted to be a knowledgeable person.

If he was a DEV and I know what it means, but thank you for clearing it up for others. He would know I was right and not make the comment in the first place. The analogy of the special forces ... well it's a good analogy but it does not apply here. I'm very happy about your dual warlord spawn hope you got some nice loot. Did you happen to check your standings with that pirate corp? If they are high can it be possible that someone with bad standings was NPC'ing before you to cause that spawn? As far as who am I ... well been playing the game for 2 years, maybe I don't come on the forum pretending to know it all actually I don't come unless I feel I have something to say.... but in this instance my sources are very reliable. I really don't want to argue with anyone here. I just want a reponse from a DEV oops sorry Developer. And btw ... why are you taking such an interest in this?

I would be in favor of this 100% why not have a trash it for skills, its not like asking for anything more ... just get rid of something you don't want. If I am so wrong about this then just take the skill away from me... Why would anyone care? Its my time wasted in training it. |

spawns dont spawn based on yr standings....
they spawn based on security level, and region
sec= how hard they are
region= what kidna rats
rats usualy spawn before you get there, or before you even enter the system, standings-based spawning is just bullsh*t

Ok folks this real easy: I don't care about what anyone's opinion is on this matter, really I don't .... My question is to CCP and CCP alone ... you can blab ... you can flame I DON'T care because what you THINK is really insignificant to me. All I know is that someone I know lives in Iceland and has visited CCP and this is what was told to him, and he told me. he has nothing to gain or loose by telling me this... nuff said

I think your friend in Iceland went to visit CCP and just ended up getting drunk.
You can ask devs questions on Irc, and they'll answer you if you're not just being annoying. You'll find out you are quite wrong, getting rare spawns is randomized, where your chance depends on the system you're in.

You might be right, he enjoys the beverages. But the closed mindness I have seen on this thread is incredible, can it be possible that CCP might not want anyone to know this? Just a thought ... the same neighsayers in here remind me of the people that told Columbus "don't sail" the World is flat you know ....  the system I am talking about has always been the same system, as far as the response that the spawns are there when you get there, I agree, where it changes is when you go and clear the belts, then in actuality you generate the new spawns, hence then you come into play, I can go around one time kill off the cruiser and frigate spawns, come back and 2x BS and support craft are now there, my sec rating with angels is -7.24 with the criminal connection its -5.36. I have a friend that is -8.34 standing and he has cleared the belts and like magic Domination spawns have appeared. True this could be coincedental but then again .... This and what was told to me caused me to start this thread. I already have mailed CCP and of course they denied it and refused to take the skill away. Which again amazes me because I'm not asking to be given anything just have something I feel is hurting me ... taken away ... my time lost thats it .... so at this point let the flaming begin and lets see all the people that refuse to believe something other than what they think is right .... can possible be

It's also hard to explain the fact that, I have been living in a system that is known for its Domination spawns for about a year. I had never gotten one my entire eve career, but when I decided to change my standing with the NPC corporation from -.3 to -2.0 (there's an easy way to do this, I'll leave it to your imagination), magically, I got a Domination spawn that very day, and another the next day. Wouldn't that make you think standings came into play?
