Says it should cost less than a mobile phone... suppose that depends how much a mobile phone costs in russia. Overclockers Player Services | Website |

I recall hearing estimates of $200... which is not a problem if a board like that works well

Agreed. I'd sex up men for this keyboard. Fo' serious. -------------- What good are actions if there's no one to tell the tale afterward?

Dang, that's a nice piece of eye candy. Functional too. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they made it to market. (Fingers crossed) |

Its actually not real - the company who made the images is a design company, not one who has anything to do with keyboards. Its unfortunate, but great PR for the design guys.

Quake...nice.
Except if you're watching your keyboard when you play Quake you might as well be drinking coffee at your neighbor's house, you'll succeed the same.
I wouldn't pay $200 for it but maybe 75-100. Or I could keep this keyboard I'm typing on which works just fine. _____________________________________________ Kills: 0 Repeats: 0 Personal Targets: 0

At the risk of sounding a bit geeky, it reminds me of the control panels in Star Trek: TNG, whose layouts varied according to the task at hand and which reconfigured themselves on the fly.
And according to the FAQ, it will be real next year. I just hope that is true. |

There was something on this keyboard in a magazine i read saying that it was coming out. I also heard that the people making it were being sued by a guy who made a patent that is roughly the same as this keyboard...

Just read some of the press about the keyboard, it *is* being built. I've been following this for some time, and there is a guy in Germany who is sueing them for the patent, but his keyboard was never even prototyped..

Because Alienware charges a premium for parts and they don't have a keyboard that can change its characters on the fly.

I'd gladly pay $200 or rather about ú150ish :) for that OLED keyboard. It would need "manual switching" however i've had enough of typing on membrane rubbish. I want the old clackity sound :) and the feeling.
The DAS keyboard may have that (especially with the weighted keys) but it doesnt have the rather "uberness" of the OLED displays. There is already talk of modifications to it to turn it into a graphical equalizer for winamp, and even a keyboard display of your screen. Just rather pixelated (each screen on each key displays a small portion of the display, just like a videowall sort of thing.)
Its tasty good! :)
