lol, yeah, most low sec space is quiet.. and dead.. today i checked amamake on the map, 13 ships destroyed in the last hour, so i think "hey, fun time" and i go there.... fly to all gates... all belts... all stations.... nothing. it helps to live in a low sec place for a while, thats where i started out *shrug*

Maybe cos you're flying around in a covert ops trying to get a jump on them

I'd like to quote Conan O'Brien:

Edited by: Dreamdancer on 18/08/2005 16:59:02 It isn't the carebears that put the fear into noobs. It's those gate gankers sitting on choke points that storylines and lvl 1 mission send those clueless noobs thru. The other day I jumped into Amamatar and about 6-8 gate campers sitting there. I turn and fly away. One guy locks me and lets loose. Wish I had my log cause he blew thru my cyclone's shield and half my armor in three shots. Impressive I must say. Anyway, while I sat there cloaked before making my run I watched them at work. They popped 3 ships in those few seconds and were ripping thru noobs and vets alike for quite awhile. I knew my cyclone wouldn't make it thru that firestorm and just docked and logged for the night.
If I was a noob and either experienced that or heard about it I'd be mightily afraid of heading into low sec. Amamake is what? 2 jumps from Rens? A major noob spawning point. So those very skilled guys prolly made carebears of about 100 noobs. Or turned them off of the game.
Curious though. They were tanking the sentries. All well within the sentries range. What setup would allow them to tank the sentries, shield tanking in the case of the guy who went after me.
edited for my amazingly bad typing

Seems pretty easy for a sniper pilot to tank sentries with a remote repairing/tanked buddy helping, and taking a few shots too (spread the damage around).
As for the "It Happened" thing, it wasn't that you about had a PVP experience, it was more like you went into shock at the thought of a EVE-Whoopin' and about had a (to quote FIGHTCLUB) "Near Life Experience" in whichyou would have had a LOT more fun at the game, and possibly something good to post.

I had that rather interesting introduction to PVP in EVE myself, enter Ama on a level 1 agent mission and run straight into a Mafia Gate Camp. This was the third agent i'd spoken too in game, counting the tutorial and the initial storyline agent...
As a welcome to Eve its gotta rank alongside the five way rogue gank in WoW... on your level 5 mage...
Still, i'm up and running around 0.0 already, though in a rifter i probably shouldn't be

first time I jumped into FD the screen loaded with Poxie's megathron sitting right in front of me, I managed to warp my thorax away though. --- I agree with everything Howard Dean says. |

Dirtball gets the prize for making his character look like a balding chick with a sex change.
I actually like his look. Its like a Used-Rifter salesman.
