I've been playing Eve for a few months now, I'd read all the info you can read on pirate tactics and what to look out for. Call me paranoid if you want but I've never been into anything lower than 0.3 space. If I ever had to go into low sec space if would be for the least amount of time possible. Never really had any PvP problems, untill yesterday...
I was about to warp into 0.4 space with 900k of Trit in my cargohold, then i spotted the ship behind me, a Mega. After looking at her info I found the pilot to have +1.4 BUT a bounty. Paranoia setting in again, full about and warp to the nearest station. Watching the mega closly, to my horror, it turned at the same time as my hauler.
This was the closest thing I've come to having any sort of PvP. I guess what I'm trying to say, just watch ya back and scan the system before you load up and fly.

Went to 0.2 sec solo with 4 x t2-miner omen. Mined 1500m3 hemo. Docked with station to change to bestower. Returned to pick up hemo. Docked with station. Refine. Log off.
The scariest thing I expect to have happen is someone to place a buy order for hemo at 1isk.
I mean, the point of the first post is to say that people are to afraid of low sec. They should not be. The only low sec that has some aspect of danger in it is 0.4 mostly, and I guess the 0.0 if you are not part of the alliance.

Then can have a postive standing and no bounty doesn't mean you are safe. Once upon a time I was innocent. Then I decided to gank haulers in Beke.

2 days ago I think a pir8 was scared for his life.
It happened near Isaziwa. A -10 pir8 (to remain nameless)entered with his shuttle and ran into me (ok I was in my Harpy going to a complex). Concord came flying all around us with messages of scrambling about. Well I saw my opportunity and wasted him, got the kill mail also.
What do you think happened next? You got it, I podded him. 10 million isk lata, I'm glad I was goin to that complex .
Empire is scary for Mr pir8s . --------

Lots of good guys have bounties. The longer you hang around in the low sec areas, the easier it becomes to recognise those good guys from the ebil ones!
Try living in the low sec areas for a bit. You will find it a lot more enjoyable than .6>

If you actually come across a pirate camp you'll know almost instantly. Your overview will be flashing red, a flashing yellow box appears around their ship & then it turns red, a message about someone trying to warp scramble pops up on the screen and your shield & armor start to drop very fast. You panic & freeze for a second then try desperately to warp to anything until your ship explodes. Your game will lag out a second as you still confused about what just happened. Then the little yellow box starts again, turns red, warp warning.... next thing you notice is waking up in a station.
After your nerves settle a bit & you sent a hate mail promising revenge you'll realize all the things you did wrong leading to that climax. You'll then re-run the event in your head until you conclude exactly what you should have done. A month or so later you come across a similar situation and you'll put that knowledge to use and blow right by the pirates & smack just a bit as you leave their local.
Four months later you get bored of the simple life and youÆll see a smaller ship at the belt and you just canÆt help yourself. You pop the noob & take their stuff (it only feels bad the first few times). Your mailbox flashes and you read your very first hate mail. And the circle is completeà
In closing, I think you've taken what youÆve read too seriously, most low sec space is very quiet & dead.

Oh yeah,a few days ago i'm in 0.0 heading to empire and some guy was following me.Man I sure was scared to death he was going to follow me to empire and not shoot. My worst fears came true,he didn't shoot...Oh wait, yeah he was blue...
Seriously though,no need to fear low security systems. Blame carebears for putting it into noobs heads that low sec is baaad bad place to be.
Hehe I used to avoid Empire cause Concord was always after me for some reason..... But afta many months I'm back to empire for some new fun . Empire is scary for hehehe, even for Gift. --------

I also live in low secure space. The only real dangers are those notorious pirate//pvp corps and the 23/camped systems (chokepoints).
I've lived in the northern regions for a while, i've had my wars and the occasional pirate run by, but the only real danger for me is the gatecamps in those special systems.

Only once have I found myself in a truly dangerous situation in low sec, and that was when frankinator and his boys took my Ishkur down to 12% structure in the only well done gatecamp I've ever seen. Mind you, I've been playing in low sec empire for 7 months near the center and near the Syndicate borders.
